Film and TV veteran Michael J. Fox has signed on to ABC’s Designated Survivor in a multi-episodic arc.
Fox will play Washington DC attorney Ethan West, who is hired by President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland), as a special prosecutor.
West’s role in the oval office will be to investigate former President and Secretary of State Cornelius Moss’ alleged leak of classified information.
According to the official description, “West is a hyper-competitive, wily, relentless lawyer who plays his cards close to the vest and whose only allegiance is to his mandate — a single-mindedness that makes him an unpredictable and formidable adversary for President Tom Kirkman.”
Fox, who is perhaps best loved as Marty McFly in the Back to the Future film franchise, most recently appeared in multiple episodes of The Good Wife and Curb your Enthusiasm.
Fans can expect to see Fox as the wily Ethan West in a five episode run when the show returns from hiatus on February 28 2018.
