Meet the Main Cast in First Clip from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

A few weeks ago we got our first trailer for Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, and with TUDUM 2022, Netflix has decided to give us a clip that kind of introduces us to the cast of characters and how they all found themselves together in one place.

You’re invited to solve the puzzle in Rian Johnson’s next whodunnit, Glass Onion. Meet the suspects in this exclusive clip, and remember in the words of Benoit Blanc: when the game ends, the mystery begins.

One new piece of the plot we discover is that all the characters are actually really old friends. As Johnson himself describes it, “The mystery begins when a group of old friends all receive an unexpected invitation in the form of a intricate puzzle box—but what starts as a game turns out to be something much more nefarious…”

Already the clip features a lot of interesting things, like character personalities and dynamics. I think the intricacy of the puzzle boxes is also a hint to what we can expect when it comes to the actual story, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

It’s unclear why Benoit Blanc was invited, but as the clip also suggests, I think the murder is actually going to be something thought-out, and Blanc is brought there for some kind of big reveal. Whereas the first Knives Out was just a mystery that came out naturally, the sequel now looks to be more purposeful when it comes to the game it wants to play with the characters.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery still has no official release date, but fans are expecting a release sometime in December.
