Mary Elizabeth Winstead married Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Ewan McGregor this year, but it looks like she herself is ready to make that Star Wars jump.
As per Bespin Bulletin, the Scott Pilgrim vet has allegedly been cast as the live-action version of Hera Syndulla in the Ahsoka series for Disney+. Nothing official has been confirmed or announced yet, but it had been announced back in January of this year that she was joining the cast of Ahsoka; but her character was yet to be revealed.
For context, the character of Hera made her debut on Star Wars: Rebels as the pilot of the Ghost and romantic partner of ex-Jedi Kanan Jarrus. The character has since become a fan-favorite and is considered to be one of the more integral figures of the Rebel Alliance. No doubt it would make sense for Hera to make an appearance in the Ahsoka show. Maybe we’ll even get to meet Kanan and Hera’s son Jacen this time around.
Should the casting of Winstead as Hera be true, she would be the third Rebels character to make the jump to live-action with Natasha Liu Bordizzo playing Sabine Wren and Eman Esfandi playing Ezra Bridger. You think Freddie Prince Jr. could play a live-action Kanan in a flashback? Is Lars Mikkelsen really playing the live-action Grand Admiral Thrawn?
Hopefully Disney doesn’t make us wait too long until the reveal.
The Ahsoka series is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2023.
