Hulu finally welcomes a Marvel storyline in their catalog. “Runaways” will hit the streaming service’s shelves next month and is another addition to the growing empire of Marvel TV shows.
An official trailer has also been released along with a premiere date for “Marvel’s Runaways.” The story follows a diverse group of young teenagers who discover that their parents are a part of an evil crime organization known as The Pride. Eventually, the teens steal their parent’s weapons and resources so they could use it against them. They also find out that they have the same powers as their evil parents, and together they use it in defeating their parents and restoring order by going head to head with The Pride. The series is also set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which could mean that it could crossover with the films at some point. And not only that, we can expect a couple of Easter eggs from the movies as well.
The comic book source, on the other hand, debuted in July 2003 as part of the “Tsunami” series from Marvel. It was then canceled in September 2004 but was subsequently revived in February 2005.
It’s certainly a good year for the comic book industry.
“Marvel’s Runaways” stars Rhenzy Feliz as Alex Wilder, Lyrica Okano as Nico Minoru, Virginia Gardner as Karolina Dean, Ariela Barer as Gert Yorkes, Gregg Sulkin as Chase Stein, and Allegra Acosta as Molly Hernandez. It is executive produced by showrunners/writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage together with Marvel’s heads of television, Jeph Loeb, and Jim Chory.
“Runaways” premieres November 21st on Hulu.
