Things get disorienting in this episode of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger. The events that happened in this chapter close in on the beginning of their partnership. It also features Voodoo as well as a little bit of American History. Each of the protagonists gets to know each other most unexpectedly. “Stained Glass” builds up the union that the protagonists are meant to have as it starts from the end of the “Suicide Prints,” the previous episode.
In this week’s episode of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger, Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) goes on the run as Detective Brigid O’Reilly (Emma Lahana) follows her trail. Meanwhile, Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) searches for a reason behind his powers. Evita Fusilier (Noëlle Renée Bercy) helps Tyrone by bringing him to her Aunt Chantelle (Angela Davis), a Voodoo Priestess, in an attempt to give him answers to his questions.
On The Run
Tandy recovers from the car crash. Tyrone tries to help her, but she ignores him. Tandy enters her car, and drives away, leaving Tyrone behind. She comes home to her mother, Melissa Bowen (Andrea Roth) and her boyfriend, Greg (Gary Weeks) sleeping in the living room. Tandy enters the comfort room to clean up her wounds. Melissa finds her there, and as they talked, Detective O’Reilly shows up. She asks Melissa about Tandy. When she asks if she could enter her home, Greg interrupts her, telling her that she needed a warrant. Because of this, Detective O’Reilly decides to leave, giving Melissa a calling card. Melissa calls Tandy, but when she looks inside the comfort room, Tandy was gone.
That evening, Tandy decides to take a bus out of town. As she gets on the bus, her injuries disorient her, so she uses music to drown it out. When she is seated, she finds herself in an empty bus. Tandy exits the bus. Outside, she meets a young Tyrone (Maceo Smedley III) playing a basketball. She watches Tyrone and his brother, Billy (Marqus Clae) play basketball. Billy’s friends show up, telling him that they found their stolen car radio. He declines their offer to take it back, saying that he was staying with Tyrone. After they leave, he hands Tyrone a check.
Tandy suddenly stood in the middle of a forest. She watched as Tyrone; all dressed in white, take a gun and shoot Connors (J.D. Evermore). His parents hand him a check before they both die. Suddenly, police officers come out of nowhere and chase after him. That vision starts over, but the second time, Tyrone chooses a noose. The policemen immediately appear, then he gets caught in the rope. At the third time the vision started over, Tandy begs Tyrone to try another way. She hands him a crystal she unknowingly made using her powers. When Tyrone takes it, it turns into handcuffs. He shows it to Connors who runs away from him.
Cursed
After Tandy leaves him, Tyrone waits for the police to pass by before he goes home. The next day, he goes to the church, looking for Father Delgado (Jaime Zevallos). Tyrone does not find him there. He decides to light some candles as he prays. He talks to his brother, asking him what he should do next. Evita comes in. She hears a bit of what Tyrone was saying, so she decides to bring Tyrone to her aunt.
Tyrone joins a group of tourists with Evita as their tour guide. Damballah Voodoo Tours and Shop was Evita’s Family’s business. Once they finish the tour, Evita finally introduces Tyrone to her Aunt Chantelle, a Voodoo Priestess. After checking on Tyrone, Aunt Chantelle tells him to take a bath using a blend of herbs from their shop.
Tyrone comes home. He and Evita evade his mother, Adina Johnson (Gloria Reuben) who is on the phone with someone. Tyrone draws his bath. When he goes in, he starts to relax; then he is transported elsewhere. Their house was empty. When he exits the house, he finds himself at the top of the Roxxon Corporation building. A young Tandy (Rachel Ryals) stands in front of him.
Tyrone tries to talk to Tandy. They hear voices from Tandy’s ballet practice, giving her directions. Tandy falls on a puddle. Tyrone sees a livewire, so he covers Tandy. Tyrone stands in a forest. Tandy was looking at a glass-walled room. Inside, there were men seated on a long table with Tandy’s father, Nathan Bowen (Andy Dylan), strapped on a chair. The board members start to torture him. Tandy runs away, then the vision, just like Tandy’s, starts over. The second time around, Tandy’s mother joined the men inside the glass room. She runs away once more, restarting the vision. As it started once more, Tyrone gripped Tandy using her powers, telling her to try another way. She brings out a crystal from her hands and uses it to puncture the glass wall.
Cold Case
Rick (Mike Donovan) Wakes up from his coma. Detective O’Reilly enters his room to ask him questions about his injuries. When she points out the fingernail scratches on his face, Rick tells her that he needs to rest, so she leaves him. That evening, Detective O’Reilly is about to move her car when Connors hands her Rick’s drivers license. He tells her that the case is solved and that she owes him a beer. Detective O’Reilly is bewildered by what just happened. Suddenly, she receives a call from Tandy.
The Church
After their visions, Tandy opens the door to a bank. The floor was cluttered with checks. She finds a young Tyrone locked in a room, crying. Tandy tries to comfort him. Tyrone enters a church. A young Tandy gives pills to men falling in line in front of her. The men collapse as soon as they consume the pills. Tyrone looks at one of the murals. He approaches it, seeing a reflection of Tandy. When their hands press against the glass, they both wake up. Tandy is still in the bus while Tyrone wakes up in the bathtub. Evita checks on him to make sure that he is alright.
Tyrone walks Evita home. He thanks her for helping him. They pass by the church in his visions. After a while, he kisses Evita. Tandy finishes talking to Detective O’Reilly and is disappointed by what she learned. She slams the car door as she left. When she enters the church, she meets Tyrone, telling him that they needed to talk.
