While they are from different backgrounds, they meet each other once again, sparking an unexpected effect between them. Separately, they try to figure out what their powers can do.
The Incident
Tandy (Rachel Ryals) is at ballet practice. Tyrone (Maceo Smedley) approaches his brother, Billy (Marqus Clae) with his friends. They were about to steal a car radio, so Billy tells Tyrone to go home. Tandy watches some of her classmates leave after ballet practice. She calls her father to pick her up. Meanwhile, Billy and his friends plan their strategy to steal the car radio, but Billy chickens out, so they leave. Tandy’s father finally arrives then they left the ballet studio.
When Billy and his friends were gone entirely, Tyrone takes the wire one of them dropped, and he uses it to open the car. He gets the car radio, and then he leaves. Billy finds him then he reveals that he stole the car radio. After being scolded by Billy, they go home. Along the way, a police car finds them, so they break into a run. Meanwhile, Tandy’s father swerves along the highway while he talks to someone on the phone. A powerplant explodes, then their car is hit by a truck.
The policemen catch up to Billy, and as the power plant explodes, one of them accidentally pulls the trigger, killing Billy. Seeing this, Tyrone runs into the water, hoping to catch Billy’s body. Tandy searches for a way out of the car that was sinking. Billy’s body was too heavy, so Tyrone tries to swim back to the surface. Somehow, he finds Tandy, and before either of them lost consciousness, they hold hands, bringing their abilities to life.
The police investigation of Billy’s death leads to a dead end. It turns out that the suspects disguised themselves as policemen. The police chief tells Tyrone and his family that the suspects are not part of the police force and that they have no records about them. Also, the police uncovered footage of Tyrone stealing the car radio. He admits his actions, saying that Billy was not responsible for any criminal activity that night.
Tyrone and Tandy find themselves at the shore. Tandy takes Tyrone’s hoodie then she leaves. When Tyrone wakes up, he takes one of Tandy’s ballet shoes before he left the beach.
Different Backgrounds
At present day, Tandy and Tyrone live entirely different lives. Tandy resorts to stealing from rich kids she victimizes with the help of her boyfriend, Liam Walsh (Carl Lundstedt). Tyrone, on the other hand, focuses on academics while being part of his school’s basketball team. Tandy and Liam successfully raid a Rick’s (Mike Donovan) house after she drugged him. Meanwhile, Tyrone beats down his opponent who repeatedly punches him throughout the game without being called out by the referee.
Tandy now lives in a condemned church building while Tyrone lives comfortably with his parents in their suburban house. When they arrive home after the game, Tyrone’s mom, Adina Johnson (Gloria Reuben) sends him to his room. After Liam drops her off, Tandy enters the church and sleeps in the comfort of Tyrone’s hoodie; one of the things she has kept from the incident.
The next day, Tandy remembers the time that her family’s property was repossessed by her father’s company after his death, leaving them empty-handed. They sit inside Liam’s car, and she becomes disappointed when she finds out that they did not gain enough profit. However, she hears about a party that could be profitable. At school, Evita Fusilier invites Tyrone to the same party, which was for celebrating their team’s victory despite the fight he had caused. Later that day, Tandy returns to her mother, Melissa Bowen’s (Andrea Roth) house prepare for the party. That evening, Tandy and Tyrone meet for the first time.
Tande bumps into Tyrone, spilling beer on his jacket. She leaves shortly after. Evita finally meets up with Tyrone, and as he was about to pay for her beer, he chases after Tandy. He catches up to her at a graveyard, and once he grabs her, their powers manifest. This makes them remember each other from the incident at the beach. Tyrone tries to stop her from running, but their powers manifest once more, letting her have her narrow escape. Tyrone picks up his wallet and leaves.
Sometime later, Tandy finishes having sex with Liam in his car. She asks him philosophical questions, looking for a way to explain what she had experienced with Tyrone. Tyrone comes home from the party. Tired, he lazily left his clothes on the floor. After this, he went to sleep. The next morning, he wakes up under his blanket on the rooftop of the Roxxon Corporation building.
Tyrone exits the building. He hears a voice outside, so he hides. Tyrone looks out and sees his brother’s murderer, Detective Connors. He wears a fake police badge as he left in a green muscle car. That same morning, Tandy prepares to leave her mother’s house when she arrives from work, losing her job once more. Melissa notices the cut on Tandy’s hand. She grabs Tandy’s arm, then Tandy is taken back to the time when she was still a child, as her mother helps tie the laces on her ballet shoes. When she comes back to reality, Melissa tells Tandy that she did not see what Tandy saw.
Tyrone tries to make his way back home. A taxi turns away from him, seeing what he wore. When he finally arrives home, he researches Detective Connors. Adina goes to his room to talk to him about missing school, and their talk becomes an emotional argument, but it ends in good terms. Tandy decides to go to the ballet recital, using the tickets she stole from Rick. After the show, Rick catches her, and he tries to rape her. Unknowingly, she stabs Rick using a knife made out of white light.
Tyrone goes to sleep once more; then he woke up in the trunk of Detective Connor’s car. He overhears him talking to someone, making some sort of a drug deal. When Connors opens the trunk, Tyrone hits him using the opened bag of cocaine. He runs into the nearby warehouse. Connor chases him, and when he grabs Tyrone, Tyrone has a flashback of the night when Billy got shot. After this, he hides under garbage bags. Connor fires at him, but Tyrone somehow transported himself back to his room. The bullet hit his garbage can.
Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger continues with ‘Suicide Sprints’.
