Marvel Comics continue to branch out in different mediums with its first-ever scripted podcast on Sticher, titled Wolverine: The Long Night. But it doesn’t stop there. The podcast will also get its own comic book adaptation early next year.
Announced during the “This Week in Marvel” New York Comic Con 2018 panel (via Marvel), Wolverine: The Long Night, will be making its transition from audio to comics in January 2019. The podcast show is written by Benjamin Percy, who’ll also take up the writing duties for the comic book. Artist Marcia Takara will bring the audio into the comic book pages as well.
AS Marvel’s first venture into the podcast realm, Wolverine: The Long Night proved to be a massive hit. The podcast follows special Agents Sally Pierce (Celia Keenan-Bolger) and Tad Marshall (Ato Essandoh) as they investigate a string of violent murders in Bruns, Alaska. First was a fishing boat massacre which leads them to a couple of mysterious deaths as well. Logan (Richard Armitage) is pointed out as the primary suspect, but things aren’t what they seem. Aside from the usual “Logan on the run” trope, there’s also a cult and a string of paranormal happenings too. It’s honestly an excellent comic book podcast, something that comic fans would be surprised to hear.
Initially released for Stitcher Premium subscribers, Wolverine: The Long Night is now out on all podcast platforms. Listen to the first episode below:
