‘Married at First Sight’ Season 6, Episode 16 ‘The Final Decisions’ Recap: Marriage Or Divorce? [SPOILERS]

“Married at First Sight” ended with two couples who managed to continue their union and one couple who decided to get a divorce. Finally, the “Decision Day” has arrived! We are set to say goodbye to Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre, Molly Duff and Jonathan Francetic, and Jaclyn Schwartzberg and Ryan Buckley. Their journey in the show might be ending, but they will happily continue a new life with their friends and families.

Officially separated

Molly, a 25-year-old commercial insurance adjuster, and Jonathan, a 28-year-old army vet, and financial associate, decided to end their relationship last week due to a huge fight in a bar during their honeymoon in Orlando.

Molly admitted to her mother Kirsten that she was disappointed about what happened to her marriage with Jonathan. She also told the camera that she is nervous going into “Decision Day” because it would mean that she will see Jonathan again. Molly thinks her ex-husband hates her so much, but she also loves to resolve their issues and continue their marriage. But thinking about their current situation, it looks like Molly and Jonathan will never get back together.

Jonathan, on the other hand, took a hike with his mother Cheryl where he told her that he felt helpless about the situation that he and Molly are currently facing. Jonathan thinks that he did everything to make their marriage work, but at the end, it didn’t. He believes that he and Molly can never repair the damage that has been done to their marriage anymore.

During the “Married at First Sight: The Final Decision” day, Molly and Jonathan met with the experts. Molly apologized to Jonathan and thanked him for entering their marriage for the right reasons. But Jonathan said that he regrets joining the experiment because he didn’t only lose his wife but he also lost his job and apartment. What Jonathan said made Molly upset and disappointed.

At one point during the meeting, Molly and Jonathan were seen flirting and telling jokes to each other. This made Pastor Cal wonder why they didn’t manage to take care of their marriage and to make things work. Dr. Griffin then asked Molly if she is willing to fix things if Jonathan decides to cancel their divorce. Molly immediately answered by saying that it would be hard for her to give up if Jonathan will not easily give up too.

But despite the experts’ advice, Molly and Jonathan still decided to get a divorce because both of them believe that it is the right thing to do.

Ryan and Jaclyn continue their marriage

Jaclyn, a 29-year-old teacher, turned sales representative, and Ryan, a 29-year-old firefighter, decided to keep their marriage despite the fights and problems they’ve been through in “Married at First SIght.” Ryan had a chance to talk with his parents where he admitted that he is still unsure if he wanted to continue his relationship with Molly or not. Ryan’s parents told him that it doesn’t take eight weeks to solve all the problems in their marriage.

Meanwhile, Jaclyn confessed that she is not in love with Ryan yet, but she could envision herself falling in love with her husband in the future. The night before the “Decision Day,” Jaclyn became upset because Ryan refused to answer her calls and messages.

When Ryan and Jaclyn had dinner, Jaclyn told her husband that she wanted an assurance in their marriage. She then asked Jonathan just to be real and sincere about his final choice for the “Decision Day.”

After Jonathan and Molly met with the “Married at First Sight” experts, it was now Ryan and Jaclyn’s turn. The couple strongly agreed that they could make their marriage work, so they decided to stay married. Ryan said that he only has eyes for his wife and he wants to make Jaclyn happy. Jaclyn responded saying that she is slowly falling for her husband. Ryan expressed how grateful he is for having Jaclyn by his side.

Shawniece and Jephte expecting their first child following ‘Married at First Sight’

Shawniece, a 29-year-old entrepreneur and cosmetologist, and Jephte, a 26-year-old second-grade teacher, also decided to continue their marriage. Among the couples in “Married at First Sight,” it was Jephte and Shawniece who seem to be enjoying each other’s company the most. Shawniece, however, is worried about what Jephte is thinking because he doesn’t open up to her that much. Even though Shawniece is scared, she pointed out that she still wants to stay married to her husband.

The night before the “Decision Day,” Shawniece prepared a romantic dinner for Jephte. Jephte appreciated Shawniece efforts, and he gave her lingerie as a gift.

During the “Decision Day,” Jephte admitted to the experts that he had sex with his wife too soon and this will never make him feel closer to his wife nor would it make him fall in love with her. Despite these arguments and confusions, Jephte believes that he and Shawniece are meant for each other so he would like to stay married.

Shawniece became very emotional upon hearing Jephte’s decision. She thanked the experts and “Married at First Sight” as well.

Meanwhile, Shawniece surprised everyone after she announced that she is pregnant! Shawniece told People that she always wanted to be a mom and she thinks being a mother is the greatest gift a woman can ever have.

Stay tuned for the “Married at First Sight: Reunion Special” on Tuesday, May 1st, at 9/8c on the Lifetime Channel.
