‘Married at First Sight’ Season 6, Episode 12 ‘Great Expectations’ Recap: Don’t Expect Too Much [SPOILERS]

Tuesday night’s episode of “Married at First Sight” shows two couples who are getting stronger and one couple on the brink of breaking up.  Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre, Molly Duff and Jonathan Francetic, and Jaclyn Schwartzberg and Ryan Buckley must do everything to save and protect their marriage before the “Decision Day” comes.

Ryan refused to let go of his apartment

The episode opens with Ryan taking Jaclyn to his parents’ house for dinner. Jaclyn felt very happy since Ryan’s parents accepted and welcomed her wholeheartedly. The couple confessed that their journey as a married couple in “Married at First Sight” has been challenging so Ryan’s parents advised them by saying that all marriages have ups and downs and that they can’t settle their issues in just a week.

Jaclyn has also been so considerate to Ryan in the past weeks. Despite the uncertainties and worries she has in mind, Jaclyn still managed to forgive and understand him. But in tonight’s episode, it still shows that their relationship is not getting any better even after their visit to Ryan’s parents.
Two weeks ago on “Married at First Sight,” Ryan went out to drink with his friends, leaving his sick wife at home. Jaclyn was very disappointed but the two still talked to settle their issues. Now, Ryan is making a big mistake again. He decided not to give up his bachelor pad to be with his roommates and Jaclyn doesn’t seem to understand the situation. Why would Ryan stay with his roommates if he can stay with Jaclyn in their apartment instead?
After the guys’ night out, Ryan went home drunk. Jaclyn was distraught and became more frustrated when Ryan started talking about his apartment. Jaclyn probably doesn’t know what to do anymore, so she walked out and left Ryan in their kitchen. “I don’t think I’m crazy to think that my husband shouldn’t need his apartment,” Jaclyn said.
Ryan is always saying that he wanted their relationship to work but seeing how he doesn’t consider Jaclyn’s feelings, they might end up getting a divorce after “Married at First Sight.” The good news is that they still have some couple of days to make their marriage work, but Ryan should also be mindful in every action he does and every word he utters. Another thing that Ryan should consider is that he should be willing to change, to listen, and to try.
Ryan met his friend Brian for dinner and shared about the issues he and Jaclyn are experiencing. Ryan said that he’s having second thoughts on their marriage, but Brian advised him to explain everything to Jaclyn the right way so she can be on the same page.

Another ‘Married at First Sight’ Night Out

Jephte, Ryan, and Jonathan met at a bar to play pool. Ryan said to Jephte and Jonathan that he doesn’t want to give up his apartment since he couldn’t back out of his lease and it was his money and friends that they are talking about. Jephte, however, thinks that Molly probably assumed that Ryan is not willing to give up his apartment so he can still have a place to stay even if their marriage will not work out.
Jonathan believes that Ryan still doesn’t know how to be in a relationship. In the end, Jephte and Jonathan told Ryan that his actions could probably send wrong messages to Jaclyn since she could be thinking that Ryan is not committed or still not ready to invest in their marriage.

Jonathan and Molly’s sweetest moments

Molly brought Jonathan to her mother’s house, and the couple helped Molly’s mother in painting her living room. Even though painting is not exactly a fun activity for most people, Molly said that Jonathan made her day fun.

When her husband left to get their dinner, Molly confessed to her sisters that she is not sure about her decision on whether she still wanted to stay married to Jonathan or get a divorce. She added that she might have the choice when the “Decision Day” comes. It looks like Molly is still giving mixed signals to her husband.
Meanwhile, Jonathan and Molly went on a rock climbing date. The two enjoyed it, and this could be probably the sweetest date they ever had since Day 1 of “Married at First Sight.” Jonathan and Molly even shared several kisses that day. Jonathan said that he is still hoping that the physical connection they have will grow and that their relationship will become successful.

Shawniece and Jephte are getting better

Shawniece and Jephte sat down together to talk about their marriage expectations. Although Jephte doesn’t have anyone to look up to regarding love and marriage, both of them agreed that if they were to have children, they would be their priority in life.
Shawniece also revealed to the girls that she finds her husband very handsome and that Jephte is her biggest crush ever. Shawniece proved for the second time around that she’s not shy to show how much she loves Jephte and how proud Shawniece is of having him in everything she does.
Shawniece and Jephte are getting along together well, and among the three couples, they are the ones with considerable progress regarding love and affection in “Married at First Sight.”
“Married at First Sight” continues next Tuesday, April 3rd, at 9/8c on the Lifetime channel.
