[00:00:30] A man bumped into another man carrying a briefcase. The second man grabbed the briefcase and ran off. Assane was sitting close by when the two men bumped into each other. He chased the man who had taken the briefcase. After a few minutes, Assane returned with the briefcase. He gave it back to the owner, who checked to see if anything was missing. The man looked into the case and told Assane that nothing was missing. Assane told him to have a great day. The man’s name was Lucas, and Assane seemed to know him.
[00:02:00] Hubert Pellegrini threatened Laughier. He told Laughier that he could lose his job. Hubert arrogantly pulled out his phone and told Laugher that Albert Fontan might call him back. Albert was the Minister of Interior for Paris. Hubert told Laughier that Albert was a close friend. Belkacem started Hubert’s interrogation. She asked him a series of questions and showed him a photo of Assane and Leonard. Hubert identified Arsene Lupin as Assane Diop. The police didn’t know his real name until now. They asked him if he knew Leonard, but he didn’t answer their questions properly. Hubert told them that Assane had stolen the necklace, just like his father, Babakar. Albert called before Hubert could tell them Leonard’s name.
[00:05:00] Albert spoke to Laughier. They didn’t have any choice but to release Hubert because they lacked evidence against him. However, they had managed to get a name, Assane Diop. Laughier told Guedira and Belkacem that they’d start from there. Meanwhile, Juliette met with Assane in the park. She told Assane that Hubert had been released. Juliette wanted to cancel the concert for her foundation, but Assane disagreed. He told Juliette to allow the concert to continue because it was for the benefit of her foundation. Assane received a call and told Juliette that he’d see her later. Hubert called on his men to do his dirty work for him. They had found out that Assane wasn’t working alone. Hubert now knew the identity of Benjamin. He told Leonard to track Benjamin down. Hubert gave Pascal another assignment.
[00:08:30] Ben called Assane to tell him that he needed to take J’accuse back. Ben was getting freaked out because J’accuse was trained to bark whenever he heard Pellegrini’s name; however, the dog barked even when Ben thought about Pellegrini. Assane laughed and told him to bring J’accuse back to his place. That night, Ben locked his shop to take J’accuse to Assane while Leonard tailed him. Assane was talking with Raoul, but Raoul was getting tired of their situation. Assane told him that things were getting better and that everything would be over soon. Raoul was losing faith in his father, which disappointed Assane. After the call, Assane went back to his hideout to meet with Ben. Leonard had managed to tail Ben without being seen. He went inside the house as Ben was leaving.
[00:12:30] Assane had a record playing, so he didn’t hear Leonard enter his hideout. He was in the kitchen with J’accuse preparing his food. Leonard prepared his silencer to kill Assane. Pascal entered the room and started strangling him. Assane thought he heard someone, so he turned the player off. He waited, but he didn’t hear anything because Leonard was already dead. Assane turned the player on once again, and Pascal rushed out of the hideout. He left an anonymous tip about his address. Assane finished cooking, but J’accuse had disappeared. He left the kitchen and found Leonard’s dead body. J’accuse barked to tell Assane that Hubert had probably killed him. Assane heard the police sirens and immediately left with J’accuse. He watched as the police stormed his hideout. The media released a news report pertaining to Assane. He was now the most wanted man in Paris.
[00:16:30] Everyone saw the news report, including Claire and Juliette. Juliette immediately called Assane and left him a voicemail. The police continued processing Assane’s hideout. Guedira was having the time of his life as he went through all of Assane’s stuff. Dumont called Laughier to talk to him. He told him that the case was sensitive, and he didn’t want anyone hearing about it. Dumont ordered Laughier to limit evidence access to the two of them. Laughier agreed without any questions, although he had a curious look on his face. Assane called Ben, who had no clue what was happening. Assane told him that Hubert’s men knew his identity. He told Ben to gather his things and get out. Ben ended the call and did as told.
[00:19:00] Ben packed everything that he could and left his shop. Assane called him as he was walking to make sure he was okay. He asked Ben if anyone was following him. Ben looked behind him and saw Pascal. Assane told Ben how the cops had found his place. He told Ben that Pascal could be the person who had killed Leonard. Ben went to the nearest bench that he could find. It was at a bus stop. Luckily, a bus came around the corner soon. Assane told Ben to get on the bus and go near the other door. Ben did as told and jumped out of the bus before it left. Assane suddenly appeared, much to Ben’s relief. He asked Assane what they were going to do next. Assane responded that they were going to disappear.
[00:22:30] Back in 1995, Assane and Ben had managed to get their hands on a secret map of the tunnels underneath Paris. It was part of how Assane had managed to get through Paris undetected. Even though his identity had been revealed to the public, the police still hadn’t been able to capture him. Belkacem went over to Guedira, asking why he looked so depressed. He responded that he was not sure that Assane was the real-life Lupin. He told Belkacem that in the books, Lupin didn’t kill. Belkacem told Guedira that it was just a book, Assane could’ve killed Leonard in real life. Guedira still wasn’t sure about everything. Meanwhile, Assane and Ben went to a storage facility, which seemed to be one of Ben’s private stashes. On their way, Assane managed to snatch a guys phone as he bumped into him.
[00:26:00] Dumont received a message from Hubert regarding Ben’s shop. Dumont provided the address to Laughier. He asked Belkacem to accompany him while he left Guedira at the station. Guedira wanted to come with them; however, Laughier told him that he was needed at the station. They went through Ben’s stuff and Belkacem managed to find the address to Ben’s locker. They went to it immediately, but they couldn’t get through the coded lock. Meanwhile, Assane and Ben were having tea inside the locker. They heard voices outside the locker, so they decided to leave. The locker had a secret door that led to the underground tunnels of Paris. Marc tried to connect with Raoul, but he was not interested in him. He continued to read his book, which was about Arsene Lupin and the Blonde Lady. Raoul told Marc what the book was all about.
[00:31:00] Marc told Raoul that he might give it a go because it sounded interesting, but Raoul didn’t care. Guedira and Belkacem went into the tunnel to follow Ben and Assane. Back at the station, Guedira found the article where Assane had left a comment. It was just a bunch of jumbled letters, but Guedira knew it was Assane. He immediately started to decode the message. The message read, “The jewish lamp.” Guedira remembers the lamp that he had seen at Assane’s apartment. He went through their files and found the lamp catalogued as item number 4. Guedira went to the evidence locker to find the lamp. Meanwhile, Laughier and Belkacem found the ladder that led to the catacombs. They found a group of tourists along with their tour guide. Laughier asked him if he had seen a black man in the catacombs.
[00:34:00] The guide jokingly asked Laughier if he was looking for Assane Diop. He realized that Laughier wasn’t joking, so he called out to the entrance so that they wouldn’t allow people inside the catacombs. Assane and Ben were making their way through the catacombs with Laughier and Belkacem hot on their heels. Backup arrived at the catacombs as Assane and Ben finally managed to find the exit they were looking for. It was like 1995 all over again. They retraced their footsteps until they found the ladder leading up to the streets. The way to the ladder wasn’t part of the catacombs, so Laugher and Belkacem weren’t able to follow them. Back in 1995, they had gotten out the same way. Ben gave the map to Assane for safe keeping. This time, Assane gave the map to Ben. He went back to the Blonde Lady who had given them the map in the first place.
[00:40:00] The Blonde Lady was in charge of the ticket booth for the catacombs. She opened the map and found a diamond carefully placed in the middle of the folds. She was filled with joy at the sight of the diamond. The Blonde Lady looked around for Ben; however, he was already gone. Guedira found the jewish candle and took it with him. Meanwhile, Dumont went to Hubert in order to tell him about the case. Dumont told Hubert that all the charges against him would be dropped. They only needed to destroy all of Assane’s belongings, and the case would be closed. Hubert celebrated; however, Dumont told him that he still needed to be careful. Dumont knew that his men were close to finding out the truth. Hubert didn’t care; he told Dumont to relax because the money was coming. They would all be rich.
[00:43:00] At that moment, Guedira found the flashdrive that Assane had hidden inside one of the candles. Guedira went to his computer to check the files within the drive. Guedira had found the gold mine. All of the evidence that Assane had managed to collect against Hubert and Dumont. Assane and Ben were sitting on a bridge overlooking the Chatelet Theatre. Assane told Ben that the first stage adaptation of Lupin had been performed inside the theatre back in 1911. It was a fitting end to their fight with Hubert Pellegrini. One last show, where it all began for Arsene Lupin.
