Lucifer Season 5 Episode 7 Recap – Our Mojo

[00:00:50] Lucifer wakes up beside Chloe. She asks Lucifer what he wants for breakfast, but he just wants what Chloe is having. Chloe asks Lucifer what he desires. Lucifer falls into a trance and tells Chloe he wants to have sex six more times. Chloe thinks Lucifer is joking, but he isn’t. Lucifer goes to Linda to ask for help. He tells Linda that Chloe has his powers. Linda is shocked. She wants to know how it happened. Lucifer tells Linda that he just had sex with Chloe. Linda gets even more surprised that Chloe and Lucifer finally did it. Lucifer thinks he’s sharing his powers with everyone he has had sex with. Linda excitedly asks Lucifer what he desires to check if she also has a share of his powers.

[00:04:00] Linda tries, but it doesn’t work. Lucifer sighs with relief, knowing he isn’t giving humans his powers. Lucifer gets worried he’ll lose purpose since Chloe already has his powers. Linda points out relationships don’t work that way. She adds that Lucifer doesn’t need to stop using his powers even if Chloe can do it. Lucifer gains a bit of confidence back, knowing he is the king of desires. At the crime scene, Ella meets Chloe and asks her about her night with Lucifer. She expected nothing would happen, so she’s totally shocked they finally did it. Ella tells Chloe about her date with Pete as well. Lucifer arrives eagerly, wanting to show Chloe he’s the master of the powers. Chloe is looking for Dan to gain updates on their case, but he’s a no-show.

[00:06:30] Ella leads the way inside the victim’s home. Her name is Diane Luna, a famous soprano in LA. Someone was trying to send a message using her death. Diane choked on her own blood as the killer slashed her vocal chords. Lucifer thinks an annoyed neighbor did her in, but Chloe knew otherwise. Ella points out that Diane’s neighbor, Norman, discovered her body. Lucifer wants to question him to use his powers. He wastes no time showing Chloe his prowess, but it doesn’t work. Lucifer quickly tells Chloe she stole his powers. Chloe speaks to Norman as Lucifer asks everyone what they desire to see if his powers would work. Norman didn’t kill Diane because he was playing World of Warcraft all night.

[00:09:00] Norman tells Chloe that Diane sang every night. He ignores her singing and just turns his headset volume higher. Chloe wants Norman to give her his game log to prove his alibi. Lucifer tells Chloe he no longer has his powers. Chloe doesn’t believe Lucifer, so he allows her to try using his powers on him. She asks Lucifer again about his desires. He angrily replies he wants his powers back. Chloe gets astonished she has Lucifer’s power. He desperately wants his powers back, but Chloe tells Lucifer he’s freaking out. Chloe wants Lucifer to enjoy their newfound relationship with or without his powers.

[00:12:00] Back at home, Amenadiel is trying his best to assemble a baby walker. Maze walks in and tells Amenadiel that he’s spoiling Charlie, so he’ll grow up as a spoiled brat if he continues down the path. Amenadiel tries to defend what he believes is right, but there’s no denying it. Amenadiel came home after Dan canceled their date to watch a baseball game. He wonders how he would kill time before he had Charlie. Maze seems to have something in mind to pass the time. Back at the precinct, the team reviews some files about Diane’s final moments. They find a lead in Diane’s vocal coach, Mario Canales. Ella checks Diane’s message and finds that she is having an affair with Mario. Chloe tells them that Mario is happily married with two kids.

[00:14:00] Chloe and Lucifer question Mario. He could’ve killed Diane to not expose the truth of their affair. Just before they leave, Pete arrives at the precinct to invite Ella to a Star Trek convention. Lucifer points out that Star Trek isn’t Ella’s thing, but she speaks perfect Klingon in response to Pete’s Klingon invitation. Lucifer asks Ella if Star Trek is her thing. She says she could share whatever Pete’s happy with. Chloe points out that sharing isn’t hard in a relationship. They visit Mario’s studio to talk with him. Lucifer tells Chloe to use their power to find out the truth. She asks Mario what he desires: He wants to cooperate. Lucifer asks him about Diane’s death. Mario didn’t kill Diane, but he tried to stop her from killing her career.

[00:16:00] Diane wanted to end another opera star’s career. She wanted to butt heads with Niels Schuman. Mario tried to talk her out of it, but he couldn’t. He told Diane that causing a fuss with Niels would end her career. Lucifer points out it ended her literally. Meanwhile, Dan visits Charlotte’s grave, asking for a sign. Dan is at his breaking point, seeing Lucifer’s demon face woke him to a hard truth. He knows he’s going to hell, and nothing he does will be enough. Suddenly, a mystical light shines from above. Michael goes down as if he came from heaven. Dan thinks it’s Lucifer, but he introduces himself as the Archangel Michael. He invites Dan to come with him to right his wrongs.

[00:20:00] Chloe goes to Lucifer’s penthouse to tell him about their case. Mario’s alibi checks out, and they can’t question Niels because he’s flying from New York. Lucifer is waiting for Chloe to arrive as he poses naked on his bed. He wants to have sex with Chloe to get his powers back. Chloe tells Lucifer that relationships are about give and take. He responds that so far, everything has been taken from him. Chloe points out he needs to be strong emotionally. Lucifer doesn’t understand Chloe, so he takes her to Linda for couple’s therapy. Chloe knows Linda will agree with her that Lucifer is being ridiculous, but Linda agrees with Lucifer. She tells Chloe to place herself in Lucifer’s shoes. She tells Chloe that Lucifer lost a big part of what he is, and she would feel the same if she lost being a detective.

[00:23:00] Maze invites Amenadiel to Lux. She gives him his old clothes to remind Amenadiel of his former self. Maze tells Amenadiel to put the clothes on, he refuses, but no one refuses Maze. She throws one of her demon daggers at Amenadiel to fight. Maze tells him they had some good times at Lux. Amenadiel says fighting her isn’t what he has in mind. Maze insults Amenadiel that he’s currently just a baby daddy for Charlie. Amenadiel retaliates and beats the crap out of Maze. He pins Maze to a wall. She starts to kiss him vigorously. Maze is frustrated that what she planned out wasn’t working. She leaves Amenadiel confused. Chloe and Lucifer visit Niels to question him. Lucifer bought a gun as a fair share in their relationship. He even brought a badge for good measure.

[00:27:00] Niels didn’t kill Diane. He didn’t care about Diane or her allegations. Niels points out he’s the best, so he demands the best from his colleagues no matter what. Chloe uses Lucifer’s powers on Niels, but it doesn’t work. Lucifer thinks he regained his powers, so he tries it on Niels but nothing happens. Mario calls Chloe, asking for her autograph because he’s a Hot Tub High School fan. Chloe points out she doesn’t have Lucifer’s power; Mario was just starstruck at her. Lucifer tells Chloe to try using his powers on him. Chloe tries, and Lucifer is still affected. Lucifer becomes more upset at what’s happening. Chloe assures Lucifer everything will be okay, and they will figure it out.

[00:30:00] A woman wakes up tied to a chair. She shouts for help, and a man appears. The woman thought he was going to help her but he wasn’t. After a day, the woman’s body was discovered. LAPD comes to the scene. Chloe declares they are dealing with a serial killer. Ella is bummed out as she didn’t notice at first. Chloe tells Ella blaming herself won’t do any good. They look for why a serial killer would slash the victim’s vocal chords. Chloe thinks the killer is trying to take away the victim’s voice. Lucifer suggests the killer is taking away the victim’s power. Back at the precinct, Ella is optimistic they will eventually catch the killer before hurting anyone else. Chloe asks Ella how she became suddenly optimistic. Ella tells Chloe that Pete assures her.

[00:35:00] Chloe and Lucifer visit a flower shop to explore a lead on their serial killer. Chloe interviews the owner’s grandson while Lucifer interviews his grandmother. He warns Lucifer that his grandmother doesn’t like cops. Chloe sees the grandson holding a glitter ribbon and recognizes the golden glitter from the crime scene. Lucifer tells Chloe that a middle-aged man bought the bouquet and left riding an Uber. Back at Lux, Amenadiel becomes a crying shoulder for Maze. She tells him about what happened the other day. Maze blames Lilith for having soulless children. She can’t find a soulmate because she doesn’t have a soul. Maze thinks only an angel can love a demon. Amenadiel tells Maze he’s having a baby with a human, and Lucifer falls in love with a human. He assures Maze she will find what she’s looking for.

[00:39:00] Chloe and Lucifer are looking for Les Klumpsky. They track down his apartment using his Uber profile. Chloe receives the warrant at the last minute and allows Lucifer to kick the door down. Les isn’t home, but they find his next victim along with a receipt from the flower shop. Lucifer feels helpless as time is running out to find their killer. Chloe calls Ella who comes with Pete from the Star Trek convention. Ella finds a dark room filled with negative pictures. Pete comes to assist her, and they find a better photo of the victim. The woman lives on the 9^th floor of the same building. Lucifer and Chloe go to the 9^th floor in search of the victim. They split up to cover more ground. Chloe knocks on the nearest door she can find to ask around.

[00:44:00] Lucifer finds a suspicious-looking door left open. It’s unit 903. He goes inside to look around. Les sticks Lucifer with a syringe on his neck. Lucifer tries to choke him, but he loses power as he loses control of his vocal chords. Les drags him to the kitchen beside the woman tied up on a chair. Chloe finds the room, so Les waits for her to enter the kitchen. She asks Lucifer what happened, but he can’t speak. He signals Chloe that Les is behind her, so she evades getting stabbed by a knife and shoots him. Les confesses to all four murders and gets arrested. Pete knows Lucifer doesn’t like him, so he wants to settle things for them to get along. Lucifer applauds Pete since everything is going fine between him and Ella.

[00:48:00] Pete gives Lucifer some advice. He tells Lucifer it isn’t up to him if Ella would like him. All he can do is let Ella decide. Lucifer knows the same applies to his relationship with Chloe. Amenadiel stays at home while Linda goes out for a bit of fun. Linda doesn’t like what happened between Maze and him. Amenadiel tells Linda that Maze just needs a friend. She tells Amenadiel that he’s a great dad. She advises him to enjoy the moment while it lasts. Amenadiel doesn’t understand what Linda means. She tells him sooner or later, Charlie will no longer rely on them.

[00:50:00] Lucifer arrives at his penthouse to see Chloe reviewing the case. Chloe tells Lucifer something is bothering her. Lucifer invites Chloe to have a drink on his balcony to take her mind off work. Chloe tells Lucifer he’s finally opening up to her; losing his power is the first step. Lucifer agrees he’s finally lowering his guard. Chloe goes to Lucifer’s room to freshen up. Dan arrives with a gruesome look on his face. Lucifer goes over to greet him. Dan pulls out his gun. Chloe sees the whole thing and tells Dan not to shoot Lucifer. Dan apologizes and tells Chloe he needs to shoot Lucifer. He shoots Lucifer, and he falls to the ground. Chloe rushes to Lucifer’s aid.
