Lucifer Season 5 Episode 11 Recap – Resting Devil Face

[00:00:50] Lucifer and Amenadiel team up against God to convince him to return to heaven. Amenadiel does his best to convince God, but he doesn’t want to argue with him. Lucifer wants Amenadiel to do some more work to persuade God to leave Earth, but he knows Amenadiel is daddy’s little angel. Lucifer’s work alarm sounds off, so he leaves for work. He tells God they need to discuss his return to heaven before his power issues get out of hand. God looks forward to speaking with Lucifer as he tinkers with the plumbing at Lux. Meanwhile, Chloe is driving her cruiser while scolding someone at the back — Trixie. She stole Chloe’s handcuffs and used them on one of her fellow students. Trixie defends herself saying she was just punishing the bad guys.

[00:04:00] Trixie gets suspended from school, so she apologizes for the trouble she caused. Chloe can’t take time off work, so she drops Trixie at Linda’s for the time being. Chloe goes to the precinct where Lucifer asks her why she’s late. She tells Lucifer that she’s having issues with Trixie. Lucifer sees his father enter the precinct and talk with Dan. Dan apologizes to God for sleeping with the Goddess. God tells Dan there’s nothing to worry about. Lucifer is about to tell God to leave when he suddenly blows Dan up into a million pieces. In a split second, he restores Dan and brings him back to life without anyone being any wiser. Lucifer sees everything and tells God he needs to return to heaven immediately. Chloe and Lucifer speak for a split second. God disappears.

[00:07:00] Chloe and Lucifer go to their next crime scene. The victim is Albert Walcott, a former heavyweight champion in boxing. While Ella is giving them an update, Lucifer sees his father with the crowd. He approaches him to tell him again to leave. God assures Lucifer he is no longer a threat to humanity because he made himself a human. He adds everything is temporary, but he wants to fully understand Lucifer, so he must become mortal. Chloe approaches God and asks for his help in solving the murder. He tells Chloe he doesn’t know who killed Albert because he turned himself into a human. Chloe invites God to accompany them to the precinct.

[00:12:00] At the precinct, God enjoys a Slurpee as he gets brain freeze twice. Lucifer introduces Ella who gives him a big hug. He thanks Ella for all her support for him. Ella doesn’t understand what he meant, but she knows nothing about celestial beings and all that stuff. They are reviewing footage of Albert trying to steal from a hospital. Ella tells them that Albert is using a human stimulant that isn’t in their database. Chloe decides they must visit the hospital to get more information. Meanwhile, Dan is breaking down at Lux. He doesn’t know what to do. He’s worried he will surely end up in hell. Maze appears in front of Dan, so he asks her what hell is like. Maze tells Dan that hell is amazing with all the tortured souls begging for their torment and suffering to end.

[00:15:00] Dan doesn’t feel dandy with how Maze described hell. At the hospital, Chloe and Lucifer speak with Albert’s doctor. She tells them how she saved Albert’s life with a triple bypass, but that was it. The last time they saw Albert was when he was trying to steal drugs from their pharmacy. The doctor adds that Albert slipped into depression and never made a comeback. Lucifer shows the doctor the drug known as YSD. Lucifer knows a drug dealer known as “The Colonel” who sells YSD, the drug Albert was using. Chloe wants to set up a sting to question The Colonel. Chloe and Dan are at the police truck as Lucifer meets with The Colonel. She welcomes Lucifer and tells him she’s just getting to know his associates.

[00:18:00] Lucifer enters the aircraft wreckage and sees his dad waving at him. Lucifer pulls him aside and tells him not to blow their cover. Dan talks with Chloe about Trixie. He’s going mental about the whole heaven and hell thing that he wants to send Trixie to military school to get her act straight. Chloe tells Dan that Trixie got suspended, but it didn’t mean she’s going to hell. Linda and Trixie have a little conversation of their own. Linda tells Trixie she must confront the person she’s angry with and tell them the truth even if it would hurt their feelings. The sting operation is going well until God blows their cover. The Colonel slaps God, enraging Lucifer. Chloe and Dan hear gunshots, so they respond.

[00:25:00] By the time they got to the aircraft, Lucifer had dealt with everyone. Lucifer takes God outside and tells him it’s time to return to his godly status. But there’s a problem: God forgot where he hid his powers. Lucifer returns his father to the penthouse and gives him a drink to find out where he hid his powers. God asks Lucifer why he chose to project a devil face. God knows Lucifer thinks of himself as the devil and wants to straighten things out. Trixie arrives before God can say another word. She kicks Lucifer’s leg and tells him what she feels. Lucifer doesn’t understand what Trixie is telling him, so he just takes her downstairs as God falls asleep on the piano. At the precinct, Chloe questions The Colonel about Albert Walcott.

[00:28:00] The Colonel tells Chloe she sold YSD to Kristoff who ran a gym in LA. Back at Lux, Amenadiel confronts Maze about what happened between them. Maze apologizes and tells him that Michael tricked her into believing something she’s not. Amenadiel tells Maze that God is sleeping at the penthouse because he turned himself into a human. Maze sees an opportunity to kill God, so she goes with Amenadiel to the penthouse. They didn’t find God, but he left a note for them. The note reads he went out to look for his powers. Chloe and Lucifer visit Kristoff for a little chat. Kristoff tells them that Albert didn’t take YSD nor any drug as he treated himself as a temple. Chloe realizes Albert didn’t go to the hospital to steal drugs.

[00:35:00] Lucifer tells Chloe he can’t accompany her to the hospital because God is missing, so he must help find him. Lucifer kisses Chloe, and they part ways. Maze finds God in the subway, but she can’t make the kill because Trixie appears. At the hospital, Chloe arrests Dr. Porter for killing Albert with YSD. Albert discovered Dr. Porter had tremors in her hands, meaning she could no longer perform safe surgeries. She was using YSD to steady her hand. Albert discovered she had botched surgeries and threatened to expose her. Dr. Porter surrenders to Chloe and the LAPD without any fuss.

[00:39:00] Back at the subway, Trixie speaks with God about her issues with Lucifer. She’s mad at Lucifer because he always did what he wanted without thinking of other people. Now she’s causing Chloe a lot of pain which didn’t sit well with Trixie. God tells Trixie he’s partly to blame for how Lucifer is acting. He admits he isn’t a perfect father for Lucifer or any of his children. After their talk, Trixie tells God it’s time to go home. God somehow remembers where he put his powers. Maze eavesdrops on their conversation and realizes something about herself. She stops trying to kill God and leaves. Amenadiel and Lucifer return to Linda’s place after spending the whole day looking for God.

[00:43:00] God appears and takes Charlie’s dumbbell containing all his powers. Linda wants to know what just happened. Dan goes to Lux again to drink. He finds Maze sitting on one of the tables. God appears and thanks Maze for not killing him. God gives her a drink and tells her miracles can happen at any moment—an angel having a child with a human and a devil falling in love. Maze tells him demons can’t grow a soul, but he says they can. Maze cries at the new hope she found. Dan bumps into God as he tries to return to Maze with their drinks. He confronts God and tells him he doesn’t want to change how things went before. God tells Dan he’s a bad husband and thanks him for loving Goddess unconditionally.

[00:46:00] God offers Dan a handshake, but he refuses. He laughs at Dan and leaves. Chloe tucks Trixie in, and they have a little mother and daughter moment. Trixie apologizes for her mistakes and owns up for her shortcomings. Chloe does the same and explains how things are between her and Lucifer. Chloe is sad as she doesn’t know what will happen between her and Lucifer. Trixie knows she’s sad because she could feel it every day. She assures Trixie that no matter what happens, Dan will always be her father, and she will always be her mother. They will love her unconditionally. They sleep beside each other in Trixie’s room.

[00:50:00] Back at Lux, Amenadiel and Lucifer toast with God as he prepares for his return to heaven. He tells them he had been feeling off, and it took him longer than expected to admit it. God tells them it’s time he retires. Before Amenadiel and Lucifer could react, God vanishes.
