Lucifer Season 1 Episode 3 Recap – The Would-Be Prince of Darkness

[00:01:00] Lucifer tempted a lady to jump from a roof. After a few words from Lucifer, she jumped and landed in a pool. It appears that Lucifer is attending a party of a famous football player. Lucifer wanted to help Ty since he’s still a virgin, and it’s a rare sight for a celebrity in Los Angeles. He used his powers on Ty to find out what he truly desired. Ty told Lucifer that he wanted to get laid so badly; however, he’s having second thoughts since he just broke up with his girlfriend. Lucifer tempted Ty into fulfilling his urges, and he succeeded as Ty approached a girl dressed in red. Lucifer spoke with the lady who jumped into the pool and introduced himself. The lady told Lucifer that he was an imposter. Lucifer didn’t know what to say as the lady walked away from him.

[00:06:00] Morning came, and Ty woke Lucifer due to a problem. Chloe, on the other hand, continued to do some research into Lucifer and his tricks. Trixie wanted to help Chloe, but she told her that she could handle it. Chloe received a call from Lucifer, and she wondered how she got her number. Chloe went to Lucifer to find out what the problem was. Lucifer pointed to a dead girl floating in the middle of the pool. The coroner informed Chloe that the girl they found in the pool was murdered. Chloe interviewed Ty, who didn’t provide any helpful details except for the guest list. With 250 guests, Chloe told them that everyone was considered a suspect. Chloe removed Lucifer from the scene and placed him with all the other party guests.

[00:11:15] Chloe continued with her investigation as Dan arrived. The police were unable to identify the girl in the pool, so she thought of looking for her belongings in order to find her car. They were able to identify the girl as Ali Thornton after they looked inside her car. One of the officers informed them that they had found something inside the master bedroom. It’s the fake fingernail that belonged to Ali. Lucifer showed Chloe a video of Ty and Ali having sex, and as a result, Chloe arrested Ty for the murder of Ali. Ty blamed Lucifer for everything since he tempted Ty last night into having an affair with Ali.

[00:14:00] Lucifer told Chloe that she had arrested the wrong man. Chloe pointed out that Ty had motive and opportunity. Lucifer told Chloe that Ty was horny, not murderous. He wanted the correct person to be punished. Chloe assured Lucifer that they would catch and punish the correct person. Chloe requested Lucifer to leave and leave everything to the LAPD. Lucifer returned to his bar and ordered Maze to give him some shots. She’s currently talking to someone on the phone, so Lucifer grabbed the bottle himself. Maze informed Lucifer that she had just gotten off the phone with the LAPD. Lucifer thought it was Chloe; however, it was the Financial Investigation Unit. They called because they received reports that Lucifer destroyed a honeymoon suite and skipped out on a $2000 tab at Zany Wings.

[00:16:00] Lucifer went berserk. Clearly, someone was impersonating him and ruining his image in the process. He ordered Maze to find the imposter and punish him, but she refused. Maze pointed out that Lucifer found humans fascinating hence she wanted to see what the imposter would do next. Lucifer visited Dr. Martin and complained about his imposter. Linda thinks that Lucifer is displacing anger towards this minor issue. She asked if there was a bigger issue that Lucifer wanted to discuss. It turns out that Lucifer is angry because he punishes the guilty, and Ty isn’t guilty of murder.

[00:18:30] Chloe visited Ty’s agent Joe Hanson, but once again, Lucifer is one step ahead of her. Chloe wanted to know how he found out about the agency. Lucifer answered that he saw the call on Ali’s phone. Chloe wanted Lucifer to leave, but he laughed and insisted that he’d stay. The two of them talked with Joe, who told them that he hired Ali to have sex with Ty. Joe explained that Ty needed to get over his ex, Debra. Joe added that Debra is obsessive and controlling; he forced Ty to file a restraining order after Debra got into a fight with a person who bought Ty a mojito. From the looks of things, Debra had a motive to kill Ali, so Lucifer and Chloe looked for her.

[00:22:30] Chloe and Lucifer approached Debra as she exited the school. Debra told them that she had nothing to say to them and walked towards her car. The car exploded before she could reach the car. The car had been remotely detonated by a person near the parking lot. Chloe told Debra that someone wanted to scare her by blowing up her car. Debra had no idea as to who wrecked her car. Debra broke her restraining order by going to Ty’s party last night, which is why she ran from Chloe and Lucifer earlier. She missed Ty, so she peaked at his part and saw him kissing Ali. Chloe asked Debra where she was between 1:00 to 3:00 am. Security footage placed her inside a froyo shop during this time.

[00:25:30] Dan visited Chloe to talk about the case. He told Chloe that Ronnie Hillman is their main suspect in blowing up Debra’s car. Dan confessed that he’d failed countless times trying to put Ronnie behind bars. Chloe offered to use Lucifer in order to get closer to Ronnie. Chloe explained that Ronnie had information that could help catch Ali’s murderer. The plan is to hand Ronnie to Dan, who will go undercover. Lucifer agreed to their plan.

[00:27:30] Ronnie arrived at the Lux where she met Lucifer. Dan sat inside the bar, waiting for Lucifer to introduce Ronnie. Lucifer approached Ronnie in order to start the handoff; however, news of his impostor had already spread, and Ronnie assumed it was the reason he called her. Lucifer decided to use Ronnie for his own gain. He whispered something into Ronnie’s ear, and she left. Dan and Chloe furiously approached Lucifer to find out what had happened. Lucifer told them that he thought of a better plan, and they only needed to wait for Ronnie to return.

[00:29:50] Ronnie returned and brought the impostor to the Lux. Maze told Lucifer that they looked alike, but he disagreed. The impostor told Lucifer that he was Lucifer which made Maze laugh even harder. The impostor confirmed all the things that he’s been doing, which led to Lucifer asking Maze for a suggestion on how to torture him. Maze suggested that they use the rack in order to get the full satisfaction. The impostor apologized and introduced himself as Justin. He impersonated Lucifer to get a few chicks and free drinks, but one thing led to another, and things got out of hand. Justin begged Lucifer not to punish him. Maze is disappointed that Lucifer set Justin free.

[00:32:30] Ronnie took her payment and thanked Lucifer for their business; however, he apologized for surrendering her to the police. Chloe and Dan entered the room to arrest her. Ronnie requested that Chloe contact her lawyer. Chloe explained the charges, but Ronnie denied her involvement with Ali’s death. Ronnie added that Debra murdered Ali; however, Chloe told her about Debra’s solid alibi. She blamed herself for Ali’s death; she knew her and that she only wanted to be an actress. Ronnie told Ali to sleep with Ty; Joe hired Ronnie for blackmail which led to Ronnie using Ali. Chloe and Lucifer didn’t understand why Joe would need to blackmail Ty. Ronnie told them that Joe had informed her about Ali’s death and that Debra had killed her.

[00:35:00] Chloe and Lucifer visited Joe. He told them that Ty was free on bail; however, Chloe needed to question him again at the police station. Joe furiously told them that Debra was the guilty one; however, she had an alibi, and no one saw her at the party. Joe confessed that he saw Debra at the party even though he told them earlier that he didn’t go to the party. Chloe revealed that they have a sworn statement from Ronnie Hillman that Joe hired her to blackmail Ty. Chloe told Joe that she only needed to place him at the party in order to book the case. Ty didn’t understand why Joe needed to blackmail him. Lucifer explained that Joe feared he would leave the agency. Ty told Joe that he only met with another agent in order to please Debra.

[00:37:30] Lucifer added that Joe wasn’t convinced that Ty would stay since he knew that it would only be a matter of time before Ty got back with Debra. Joe confessed that Ty would ruin him if he left. He confessed to murdering Ali. Joe agreed to come with the police, but Lucifer pushed him with his devilish strength that he flew into the next room. Lucifer wanted to finish Joe, but Chloe stopped him. The police arrested Joe and took him into custody. Ty explained that he didn’t want to leave Joe; however, he’s now leaving given everything that happened. Ty got back with Debra as Lucifer and Chloe solved another case.

[00:39:50] Chloe didn’t want to admit that Lucifer helped her to solve the case; instead, she told Lucifer that he could stop blaming himself for almost ruining the case. Lucifer met with Dr. Martin again to continue his therapy as well as their sexual relationship. Linda told Lucifer that he’s not only enjoying punishing the evil but also giving justice to the good. Lucifer left Linda as she stretched her body out after having sex with him.
