Lucifer Season 1 Episode 12 Recap – #TeamLucifer

[00:01:00] A group of cloaked people gathered around a table, where they tied up a girl in a white dress. One of the men recited an incantation and called out Lucifer before stabbing the girl in the heart. Another man brought the girl into the next room and licked the blood from her chest. The girl laughed and removed her blindfold however the man placed the blindfold on her again. The girl became worried and untied her hand, she removed the blindfold again; however, someone stabbed her for real.

[00:02:30] Lucifer and Maze were experimenting on which weapons would make him bleed. Maze threw a few daggers at him, which just bounced off him. Maze told Lucifer that he was in denial about the cause of his mortality, Chloe. Lucifer just wanted to be sure as Maze threw her hell made dagger, Lucifer told her that those daggers don’t count since they hurt as hell. Lucifer had hit his toe on the marble staircase, causing it to bleed; he thought they had achieved a breakthrough; however, Maze pointed at the elevator as Chloe arrived. Chloe wanted to know why Lucifer was avoiding her, Lucifer made an excuse that he had personal matters he needed to attend to. Chloe told Lucifer that she needed him on the current case; Lucifer wanted to know what happened, but Chloe told him that he needed to see it for himself.

[00:05:00] Lucifer and Chloe arrived at a theater where a group of people chanted “Satan is here, but god is near”. Lucifer stayed a few feet away from Chloe as he was worried about the effects she had on him. Upon entering the theater, Lucifer bumped into the charlatan preacher that he had confronted on Hollywood boulevard. The preacher remembered his face and uttered the words “Evil is here”. Chloe laughed as she asked Lucifer if he knew the guy. Chloe ordered the police to lift the sheet covering the body of a dead girl. Lucifer didn’t understand why he was needed for the case so they flipped the girl over to reveal the message “Hail Lucifer” carved on the victim’s back. Chloe pointed out that was the reason why they needed him.

[00:06:20] The preacher somehow got through the police as he shouted at Lucifer and called him the devil. He blamed Lucifer for the girl’s death; Malcolm stopped him and ordered the other officers to escort him out of the theater. He formally introduced himself to Lucifer and told him that he wouldn’t tell Chloe about what had happened between them. Malcolm left as Lucifer and Chloe continued their investigation. Dan tried to talk with Chloe; however, she didn’t want to hear him out. Lucifer asked for the address of their next destination and wanted to go there by himself. Chloe wondered why Lucifer was acting strange.

[00:08:30] Lucifer and Chloe interviewed Rose’s father, Chloe asked him if they were close, but he declined. While Lucifer spoke to him, Chloe discovered a secret room behind a bookshelf. Rose’s father didn’t know about the secret room and was shocked to discover what his daughter had gotten herself into. Chloe discovered a book that was supposed to be for “Corazon”. Dan called Chloe about Rose’s subdermal implants and discovered that a man named Corazon had accompanied Rose the day she had gotten the implants. Dan did his best to save their marriage as Malcolm applauded his efforts. Malcolm apologized to Dan for what had happened between them, but Dan blamed everything on him since he sent a breakup text to Chloe while he was unconscious.

[00:11:50] Malcolm headed for his car as Amenadiel appeared and shoved him against the wall. He wanted to know why Lucifer was still alive. Malcolm told him that Lucifer had ratted him out; he knew he was an Angel, and he can’t send him back to hell. Malcolm also showed Amenadiel the pentacostal coin and told him that he was part of #teamlucifer unless Amenadiel gave him a better deal. Back at the station, Chloe tried to make out what Rose’s implants were while Lucifer studied the book they found. The book was about him, which he approved since most of the text written praised him. Chloe asked for assistance regarding the implants, and Lucifer arranged them to form the words “Filii Hircus,” which meant children of the goat. Lucifer didn’t understand why people associated him with goats.

[00:13:50] Chloe did a web search for children of the goat and got a lead. Lucifer looked at the address and told Chloe to meet him there. Chloe still didn’t understand the reason for Lucifer’s weird behavior. Chloe arrived at the address they got on the web page and she immediately confronted Lucifer. She wanted to know why Lucifer is acting strange around her; she thought that it was because she told him about making her feel vulnerable. Lucifer admitted that it was the exact reason; Chloe told him that she only meant that she could trust him. Chloe knocked on the door and a man answered. She told him Filii hircus but he didn’t respond, Lucifer tried other different catchphrases and the man confirmed that they already got it the first time however they were having a private session at the moment.

[00:15:30] Chloe told the man that they needed to let them in since the real Lucifer was there. The man asked for some ID, Lucifer told Chloe to get his ID from the car, but it was just to get her away from the door. Lucifer showed his true identity and scared the man away, they entered the house and discovered that members of the cult were having a meeting. One of the members spoke about Rose and her death; Chloe told Lucifer that the cultists didn’t seem like killers; however, the man took out a dagger and told everyone that they would crown the four princes of hell. Chloe took back her remarks as Lucifer barged into the meeting to stop their ridiculous ritual. He told them that he was the real Lucifer and that Rose didn’t deserve to die. Lucifer added that what they were doing wasn’t what he wanted.

[00:18:00] The man speaking to the cult earlier exited the room, Chloe saw him leave, so she followed with Lucifer right behind her. Chloe wanted to know why he was trying to escape, but he disagreed and told her that he’s only upset. Lucifer used his powers on him, thinking that he’d confess to murdering Rose; however, he wanted to kill whoever killed Rose and leave the cult soon after. He introduced himself as Onyx, but Chloe wanted his real name, Mitch Watson. He joined the cult 12 years ago and changed his name to Onyx. Mitch became the high priest, but he no longer wanted to continue the cult. Mitch could no longer bear leading the cult as it attracted too many weird people who took it too seriously.

[00:20:00] Chloe pointed out that Rose had the same implants that he had. Mitch explained that all the hardcore members of their cult get implants. He had tried to convince Rose not to get them, but she, too, became obsessed. Lucifer pointed out that Rose’s father didn’t offer much guidance, which may be the reason why Rose joined their cult. Mitch disagreed; he added that Rose’s boyfriend, Corazon, convinced her to join the cult. Corazon was a creepy fellow who one time suggested that they do live animal sacrifices. Chloe wanted to know if Corazon had access to the dagger he held earlier. Mitch showed them that the dagger was only a prop; however, they did have a real one. Mitch checked the real dagger, but someone had taken it. Chloe wanted all the information they have on Corazon; however, Mitch didn’t have any.

[00:21:50] Maze visited Amenadiel to bring him some food as he didn’t show up for their date. Amenadiel sulked about the fact that he had failed in the task that God gave him. To make things worse, he had slept with Maze. Maze suggested that Amenadiel just return home; however, he couldn’t face God as a failure. She comforted Amenadiel with the best thing she could offer.

[00:23:30] Chloe got a lead on Corazon, whose real name was Mike Carey. The police were out searching for him, and she suggested that Lucifer head home for the night. He didn’t want to rest until they found Mike, so Chloe told him not to wake Trixie up as she took a shower. Lucifer immediately woke Trixie up to ask her a few questions regarding Chloe. He wanted to know if Chloe had a scar on her back. Trixie wanted money in exchange for information, so Lucifer paid up. Trixie confirmed that Chloe had a scar because Kraken bit her. Lucifer wanted to know who Kraken was; Chloe told him that it was her mother’s dog. Chloe ordered Trixie to go back to sleep.

[00:25:00] Lucifer asked Chloe to take of her shirt to see if she had wings on her back. Chloe obliged and showed Lucifer that she wasn’t an angel as he thought. She assured him that not everyone was his enemy, including her. Chloe received a message that the police had found Mike. They went over to a warehouse where Malcolm and Dan were already looking for Mike. They didn’t see anyone; however, Chloe felt something drip onto her hand. She looked up to see Mike hung up on the rafters. A police officer showed Chloe and Dan blood stains on a couple of crates. They stepped away to see an anamorphic message that states Morningstar. Dan thought that someone was killing people for Lucifer or that he was involved in some other way.

[00:28:20] Lucifer heard their conversation and wanted to know what Dan meant. He was suspicious of Lucifer who didn’t take his allegations lightly. Lucifer pointed out that the victims were innocent and that he had no part whatsoever in their deaths. Chloe separated Dan and Lucifer; she told Lucifer to just go home. Lucifer didn’t want to go home; he told Chloe that she was the reason he came in the first place. Chloe told Lucifer that she was just trying to protect him since he might have some involvement on the case. Lucifer angrily left Chloe and Dan. He headed over to Linda to confide in her what had just happened. Lucifer told Linda that Chloe made him vulnerable. She pointed out that vulnerability is also known as intimacy, but Lucifer disagreed as Chloe literally made him bleed. Linda advised Lucifer to stay away from Chloe, but he didn’t want to.

[00:30:30] Maze lay beside Amenadiel; she took out her dagger, but he woke up and stopped her. Maze tried to explain her side, but Amenadiel left. Meanwhile, Lucifer returned to Lux where the preacher was waiting for him. He blamed Lucifer for all the deaths that had happened since he knew that he was the devil. The preacher tried to pick a fight with Lucifer; however, he wasn’t in the mood. Lucifer choked him just as Malcolm arrived to stop him. Back at the crime scene, Chloe found a letter M cuff link, Dan thought it belonged to Lucifer since he always wore a suit. Chloe and Dan sent the cuff link to have it checked, but they didn’t get anything off it. While at the station, they saw a news report about Lucifer attacking the preacher, Reverend Jacob Williams.

[00:34:00] Chloe defended Lucifer from her colleagues, and she noticed that Jacob also wore cuff links. Dan pointed out that a lot of people wore cuff links. Chloe pointed out that the cuff link they found wasn’t a letter M instead a letter W for Williams. Back at Lux, Malcolm poured Lucifer a drink from his private stash. Malcolm and Lucifer had a conversation about how Chloe and Dan treated him back at the warehouse when he noticed the red paint on Malcolm’s hand. He realized that Malcolm was the one behind the murders; Malcolm quickly admitted that he had killed those people to please him. Lucifer threw Malcolm across the room and prepared to punish him for his actions. Malcolm pulled out his gun, but he wasn’t able to shoot Lucifer.

[00:38:00] Amenadiel arrived to pick a fight with Lucifer. To Lucifer’s disappointment, Malcolm took the opportunity to escape while he spoke with Amenadiel. A fight broke out between them as they punched one another and threw themselves across the room. Amenadiel wanted to know why Lucifer used Maze against him. Lucifer realized that Amenadiel had fallen in love with Maze. Maze arrived to stop them, but then she surrendered her daggers and told them to kill each other.

[00:41:20] Chloe and Dan arrived; Chloe volunteered to look for Jacob inside the club while Dan, along with the other officers, searched outside. She arrived to see Lucifer sitting by the bar having a drink. Chloe walked across the bar and suddenly took out her pistol as Dan and the other officers entered. She told Lucifer to put his hands up and move away from the bar. Lucifer wanted to know why she was arresting him; however, he then saw Jacob dead on the floor beside the bar. Lucifer tried to explain what had happened, but Chloe proceeded to arrest him.
