Lucifer Season 1 Episode 11 Recap – St. Lucifer

[00:01:00] Chloe woke up in Lucifer’s bed, butt naked like the day she was born. She was horrified that they had had sex, but Lucifer told her that they didn’t. Chloe couldn’t believe that he declined the opportunity to bed her; Lucifer couldn’t believe it himself either. Chloe left in a hurry after getting dressed. Lucifer went downstairs, where Maze was waiting for him. He still didn’t want to talk to her despite Maze’s effort for reconciliation. Maze told Lucifer that he couldn’t stay mad forever; however, he knew that he could, for he’s the devil.

[00:03:30] Lucifer arrived at a murder scene. The victim is the founder of the Dunlear foundation, Tim Dunlear. According to Chloe, a volunteer of the foundation named Emmet found him earlier. Emmet told them that he saw a man outside before he found Tim; he gave a description to the police. Chloe told Emmet that they would call him if they had any more questions. Meanwhile, Malcolm held Dan hostage in a basement; he planned to pin Lucifer’s murder on him. Malcolm left Dan to contemplate his next move. Lucifer and Chloe interviewed Tim’s wife; they wanted to cancel the fund-raising gala that Tim had planned; however, Lucifer volunteered to continue the event at his club. He also vowed to find and punish whoever killed Tim.

[00:08:30] Lucifer went over to Linda to give her the good news. He had found a new high and thrill in doing good, and he wanted more. Linda warned him that goodness wasn’t a toy; however, the way Lucifer wanted to use goodness, he certainly thought of it as a toy. Linda didn’t approve of how Lucifer viewed things. After his session with Linda, Lucifer and Chloe checked a lead on their case. A homeless man had tried to pawn Tim’s valuables. He told them that Tim was already dead by the time he arrived. He added that Tim would’ve approved of him taking the stuff since he was a good man. The homeless man gave an alibi, so Chloe called it in to see if he was telling the truth.

[00:11:00] Lucifer, on the other hand, wanted to do something good, so he thought of giving the homeless man his clothes. He stripped down and gave everything to the homeless man in hopes of feeling the same high he felt when he declined to sleep with Chloe. He approached Chloe to inform her about the good deed that he did. Chloe couldn’t believe that he had stripped naked for a homeless man. After proving that the homeless man was telling the truth, Chloe and Lucifer decided to visit Tim’s wife, Vanessa, to ask her more questions. Upon arrival, a man introduced himself as Will Fleming, the lawyer for the Dunlear’s and their foundation. Will stopped Chloe from questioning Vanessa and told her to question Emmet instead. Chloe questioned Emmet while Lucifer spoke with Vanessa regarding the fundraiser.

[00:13:30] Emmet told Chloe that he had fought with Tim the night before because of his scholarship money. Tim told Emmet that he might not receive the money that he promised, which angered him. Emmet had come to apologize, but he was too late. Chloe wanted to know more about Tim and Vanessa’s relationship. Emmet told her that their relationship was perfect when the cameras were on. Lucifer and Chloe met at a banquet hall where Lucifer was having lunch with the donors of the foundation. Chloe had a hunch that Tim might have been cheating on Vanessa since he hadn’t slept at home in months. They both spoke with the donors to find out more information on Tim; however, they got nothing. Chloe convinced Lucifer to use his powers to speed things up.

[00:16:45] Lucifer sang for the donors of the foundation. Halfway through his song, Kyle got up and lost it. He shouted at everyone for celebrating when Tim died and left the room. Lucifer and Chloe gave chase in order to speak with him. Kyle confessed his love for Tim; he told them that Tim was in denial of his sexuality which was why they kept their relationship private. He added that Vanessa consented to their relationship because she needed Tim’s money. Kyle didn’t know who would want to kill Tim; he showed Chloe and Lucifer the last message that he got from Tim. The message contained an empty plot of land, but Kyle didn’t know what it meant.

[00:19:20] Malcolm visited Dan to tell him about kimchi rice. Dan wondered why Malcolm was wasting his second chance at life by killing Lucifer. He told Dan that he’d been to hell, it was just a few seconds for the people on earth, but it was years for him in hell. Malcolm loved life; hence his punishment in hell was the exact opposite. He experienced starvation and loneliness. He made a deal with Amenadiel in order to return; in exchange, he needed to kill Lucifer, or Amenadiel will drag his soul back to hell. Dan tried to kick Malcolm in the face while he was monologuing; Malcolm laughed at him while he picked up his food. Dan stepped on the plastic knife and hid it under his foot. Malcolm told Dan that he was going to frame him for Lucifer’s murder, and everyone was going to believe it because he was the jealous ex-husband.

[00:21:25] Will visited Chloe to try and scare her off the case. He told Chloe that Vanessa couldn’t kill Tim, and neither did he. Chloe went to Lucifer to ask him for help regarding the case, but he refused to use his power on this occasion. Lucifer was focused on the fundraiser in order to raise money for the children of Haiti and the Dunlear foundation. Chloe wanted the old Lucifer back; she pointed out that the old Lucifer always had her back no matter what.

[00:24:00] Maze crashed Amenadiel’s dinner. She wanted to get even since he ruined her life. They continued their conversation as Maze ordered more wine. Chloe asked Kyle for help in order to view Tim’s phone records. The message came from Haiti; however, Kyle didn’t know why Tim went to Haiti on that day. Kyle told her that they did some charity work in Haiti a few years back. Chloe pointed out that the plot of land on the picture could be where they did their charity work; however, Kyle disagreed as the school should have already been completed by now. She knew that someone wasn’t telling the truth.

[00:27:30] Chloe went to Will for help. She explained that Vanessa killed Tim because he discovered that she’d been stealing from the foundation for herself. Will didn’t believe Chloe since everything was based on speculation. Chloe asked Will to look into Vanessa’s accounts in order to get proof. She did her best to convince Will to assist her. Meanwhile, Dan did his best to escape from bondage. He sliced the cable tie using the plastic knife but dropped it halfway through. Dan muscled his way to break free and rammed the door out of the basement. Back at Lux, Lucifer prepared for the fundraiser when someone came into his room. He thought it was Chloe; however, he came face to face with Malcolm.

[00:30:00] Malcolm told Lucifer that he came to murder him. Lucifer recognized Malcolm, but he couldn’t tell from where, so Malcolm reminded him. Lucifer remembered and warned him that killing him would bring him to hell. Malcolm explained that Amenadiel had made him a deal to kill him, so he wouldn’t go back to hell. Lucifer laughed while pointing out that he got the bad end of the deal. Lucifer explained that Angels are unable to take human life; hence Amenadiel couldn’t send him back to hell. Additionally, if Malcolm murdered Lucifer, he would still go back to hell when he died. Lucifer added that he would eventually die anyway. Seeing that he talked some sense into Malcolm, Lucifer offered him a deal. He revealed his Pentecostal coin and explained how it worked. Malcolm realized that Lucifer had made a better deal, so he took the coin and left.

[00:33:00] Somewhere in LA, Maze and Amenadiel were having sex in the back of a car. Amenadiel cracked the rear windshield in the heat of the moment as his wings came loose. Lucifer, on the other hand, sat in his room thinking of his next action when Vanessa entered. He offered Vanessa some booze and talked to her about her plans after the fundraiser. Lucifer realized that Vanessa did kill Tim, so he planned to expose her at the fundraiser; however, she pulled out a gun and shot Lucifer. Dan arrived and ran to his room; he found Lucifer dead on the floor when he suddenly gasped for air. Dan explained that Malcolm had planned to kill him. Lucifer informed him that Malcolm was no longer a threat and that someone else had shot him.

[00:37:00] Lucifer told Dan to have a few drinks as he attended the fundraiser. Vanessa was already at the podium when Lucifer arrived. He used his powers on Vanessa to get her confession, but Chloe interrupted. She revealed how Vanessa embezzled money from the foundation for personal gain and that she killed Tim the moment he found out. Vanessa told them that they didn’t have proof; however, Will came in with the proof on hand. Lucifer continued to use his powers as Vanessa admitted to everything. Chloe arrested Vanessa and dragged her away in cuffs. Lucifer once again felt the rush from helping Chloe as she thanked him before leaving with Vanessa.

[00:39:00] After the event, Maze arrived. Lucifer talked to her because life was too short to hold on to any grudges. He pointed out that nothing was forgiven yet. Maze confessed that she had slept with Amenadiel to gain his trust and use it against him. Lucifer told Maze that he got shot, but he didn’t know how he survived. He realized something and advised Maze to be careful around Amenadiel. Lucifer went over to Chloe’s house; they had a small conversation about things between them. Chloe admitted that he made her vulnerable; at that moment, Lucifer tried to slit his hands, and to his amazement, he bled. Lucifer told Chloe that believe it or not, she too made him vulnerable.
