Reports may have been going around that Netflix has closed their animated division, but we’re still getting a third season of one of their most celebrated animated IPs.
Love, Death & Robots Vol. 3 comes out later this month, and we have a new trailer that showcases the nine incoming anthology shorts that will be premiering on May 20. Check this out:
Emmy-winning animated anthology Love, Death + Robots returns with a third volume executive produced by Tim Miller (Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate) and David Fincher (MINDHUNTER, Mank). Terror, imagination and beauty combine in nine new episodes which stretch from uncovering an ancient evil to a comedic apocalypse, telling startling short stories of fantasy, horror and science-fiction with trademark wit and visual invention.
While the show is generally an anthology series, it looks like we’ll be getting a comeback from the three robots that we first met back in Season 1Besides that, everything else looks brand new, and the animation is still just as experimental and diverse as ever.
While not every entry in Love, Death & Robots is a hit, the show manages to have something for every audience member. It is a pretty simple, but great idea that every entry should either have love, death, or robots, or maybe all of them at once. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of this show down the line, because Netflix shouldn’t really be pulling the plug on the division that managed to give us some great content besides the live-action branch of things.
Love, Death & Robots Vol. 3 premieres on Netflix on May 20.
