Logan Star Dafne Keen Describes Her Character in Star Wars: The Acolyte

Ahsoka may have gotten the spotlight at Star Wars Celebration last weekend, but we also got some updates on other upcoming SW series. One show is The Acolyte from Russian Doll’s Leslye Headland, and we have some update on Dafne Keen’s (His Dark Materials, Logan) character.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Keen confirms that her character is actually a Jedi, and she will actually have some scenes where she wields a lightsaber. She says, “I can’t say much. I can say she’s an alien. She’s pretty cool, she’s pretty badass. She gets to play a bit with lightsabers, which is fun, which I loved and… It’s just an honor to be a Jedi.”

Fans assume that Keen is going to be playing the padawan learner of the Jedi played by Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), but it has been said that the main character of the series will be played by Amandla Stenberg (Bodies Bodies Bodies). Other cast membersof the series include Jodie Turner-Smith (The Last Ship), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix).

Here’s the synopsis for The Acolyte:

“A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.”

With Andor pretty much leaning in on the political themes and Skeleton Crew said to be inspired by Goonies and Stand By Me, I’m excited to see how The Acolyte plans to set itself apart from the other Star Wars shows. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long until we get a teaser.

No release date has been revealed for The Acolyte, but the series is expected to hit Disney+ sometime next year.
