Listen to the Chilling Siren Song from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

If there’s anything that was improved in the Black Panther sequel from the first movie, it was definitely the music, and composer Ludwig Goransson made sure that there were specific motifs for every character, from the Dora Milaje to the Talokan people.
Probably one of the more memorable scenes from the film was the Talokan attack on the boat which showcased their Siren Song ability which hypnotized people into jumping off the boat. The sounds seem like something right out of a modern horror film, and Marvel has officially released the song online for everyone to check out.
Just make sure it doesn’t lead you to jump off any ledges:
While it’s not outright stated in the movies, the sonic hypnosis ability is something out of old mythology, where sirens or mermaids had the ability to sing and entrance sailors to jump out of the boat and towards their death in the water. It’s been done in movies several times before, but Goransson really ups the ante by making the chant sound really old and tribal while at the same time overwhelming and stressful.
With the first Black Panther really shedding a light on Wakanda, it’s pretty great that we get to see another hidden city in the form of Talokan. While we thought Aquaman pretty much gave us that back in 2018, it’s pretty neat how Ryan Coogler was able to take influence from a different culture and give us something completely unique.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now showing in theaters.
