Lennie James' Morgan Named as 'Fear The Walking Dead' and 'The Walking Dead' Crossover Character

Sorry, Abraham fans, it looks like he’s not coming back to the show after all. After tonight’s episode of “The Walking Dead,” a juicy announcement was made on AMC’s hit zombie series after-show, “The Talking Dead.” After teasing a crossover between “The Walking Dead” and its companion series “Fear The Walking Dead,” it’s now confirmed that Morgan Jones (Lennie James) will be transitioning into the latter show’s cast roster as the newest crossover character.
Morgan is one of the original characters who have made it this far in the series. He joins Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) and Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) as the core cast of the survivors from Atlanta back in season 1 of “The Walking Dead.” When the first season ended with Rick learning about the disease, Morgan went on a hiatus for two seasons, making his brief comeback in Season 3, when Rick, Carl, and Michonne (Danai Gurira) came across him in King County. He later became a series regular in Season 5’s “Terminus” arc.

“From the very first moment that the whole suggestion of Morgan, my character, going over to Fear The Walking Dead — the hardest part of it from the beginning until now has been leaving The Walking Dead,” James said. “Leaving that cast, leaving that crew. And I’ve said my goodbyes to the cast and stuff, and I’ve said my goodbyes to the crew, but I would just like to say about the crew — because as actors, we take all the bows — but actually that show stands or falls pretty much on the back of that crew. They’re an amazing bunch of people and I’m going to miss them very, very, very much.”
James will begin shooting for “Fear The Walking Dead” right away, as he has just finished filming for “The Walking Dead” last week. With filming for “The Walking Dead” Season 8 now recently wrapped, “Fear The Walking Dead” is now about to begin their production in Texas. James also joins Garret Dillahunt and Jenna Elfman as the new series regulars for “Fear The Walking Dead” Season 4.
