'Legends of Tomorrow' Loses Victor Garber As Series Regular

The CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow” has proven to be an awesome superhero team-up show. Featuring a group of time-traveling heroes, they’ve been able to prevent catastrophes from happening and even helped in letting the course of time take place as it was always meant to be. But just like any other team in the world, it’s not always a guarantee that they will stick together through and through.
It is now confirmed that Victor Garber, who plays Dr. Martin Stein and the other half of Firestorm, will be leaving the series sometime during the current third season. It’s hard to imagine the team without Stein, who’s served as the group’s moral compass in times of emotional clashes. He’s been some kind of a father figure to all of them, especially to Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh), Firestorm’s other half too.
Victor Garber leaving ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ for Broadway Musical
Deadline reports that Garber’s departure as series regular has been running around the mill since this Spring, back when Season 2 was wrapping up. However, it was officially confirmed early September that Garber will exit the show. The actor will be making his return to Broadway with Bernadette Peters for the revival of the musical “Hello, Dolly!” The show opens January 20th.
Now it’s important to note that filming for “Legends of Tomorrow” while doing a Broadway show is a taxing undertaking. Broadway shows often involve a schedule spanning six days a week with 7-8 shows. That’s why it’s understandable for Garber to finally make his exit on the show.
While it’s unclear how his exit will be addressed in the show, viewers would have to pay attention to his narrative in this season of “Legends of Tomorrow.” There are only a couple of episodes left before he says goodbye, and we can see how it might relate to Dr. Stein’s pregnant daughter. And with a grandchild on the way, it’s very likely that Dr. Stein would ultimately leave the team to care for his daughter and grandchild.
Firestorm’s fate, on the other hand, also remains to be seen.
