Ghostbusters: Afterlife managed to generate the excitement Sony wanted for a Ghostbusters revival, and production is currently ongoing for the follow-up.
Just in, we have some new set photos including Ernie Hudson (Winston), Paul Rudd (Grooberson), and a returning villain from the first movie, William Atherton (Walter Peck). Check these out:

While Winston and Peck look like regular civilians in their outfits, a lot of people think that Paul Rudd is wearing a Ghostbusters uniform and it’s being covered by the robe he’s wearing. After unwittingly becoming the Louis Tully of Afterlife, I think it’s fitting that he actually gets to suit up for the sequel. Funnily enough, Tully also got his hands on a suit and proton pack for Ghostbusters II, despite not being a Ghostbuster.
If you’re having trouble remembering Peck from the first movie, he’s the politician who demanded that the Ghostbusters be shut down, and he’s the reason all the ghosts they trapped got released into the city. We don’t know what his deal will be with the sequel, but I imagine he’ll still have beef with the Ghostbusters, especially now that they’re coming back to the city of New York.
We don’t have an official synopsis for the plot of the sequel yet, but it was teased that the containment unit in the firehouse has started blinking red. With Afterlife taking the story out into an isolated town, I’m excited for a return to New York and watching a new batch of ghostbusters run the business.
The Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel is set to come out on Dec. 20.
