After 15 years of marriage, Laurence Fishburne and wife Gina Torres have confirmed their split on September 20. The couple married back in 2002 and were last seen together publicly in December 2015. Torres gave a statement to People magazine about her amicable split with Fishburne. She said there were no bad guys during their split. They both quietly separated last year. Torres continued saying both she and Fishburne would continue to happily keep their family intact and raise their daughter together.
Laurence Fishburne and Gina Torres’ Quiet Split
People found it strange when the couple was not seen together in public since December 2015. Since then, both actors have made multiple solo appearances at premieres and other events.
Back in January 2016—Torres’ last public appearance with her then-husband—the actress referred to herself as Fishburne’s wife. Later, she quit from “Suits” after six years on the legal drama series because she needed to tend to her personal life. Many have speculated there was trouble in her marriage with Fishburne.
Fishburne and Torres have a 10-year-old daughter named Delilah while Fishburne has two other children from his marriage to Hajna O. Moss. Torres served as a step-mother to Fishburne’s other kids.
Aside from tending to other projects, Laurence is currently starring on “Black-ish” and “Madiba.” Torres, on the other hand, is in talks to star in an upcoming “Suits” spin-off. The former couple appeared on screen together in “The Matrix Reloaded” and as a married couple in “Hannibal” on NBC from 2013-2014.
Gina Torres Spotted Kissing Another Man
Amidst the separation rumors, Torres was photographed passionately kissing a mystery man last week. She was spotted having an hour-long lunch at the Sweet Butter cafe in Los Angeles. The pair looked cozy and people have noticed Torres was not wearing her wedding ring. According to Page Six, the mystery man has been identified as Kevin Wright. An entrepreneur and solar energy investor from Utah who now resides in Southern California. With the unfortunate separation of the two actors, they continue to remain united for their family.
