The long-awaited Coachella Valley Music Arts Festival 2017 once again did not disappoint spectators for the overly superb performance it staged. There’s more to the singing of the famous songs we already know. Lady Gaga and Lorde definitely made a breakthrough. The two sought-after songstresses moved their fandom by dropping their new songs during the music festival. It’s a priceless Coachella moment for those who heard the two new songs.
Lady Gaga Definitely on the Edge of Glory with ‘The Cure’
Headlining Coachella might be a lot of pressure. Let alone replacing a phenomenal Beyonce. But hey, this is Lady Gaga. Is there a performance this woman cannot possibly do? Thrilling the crowd with her signature performance energy, the lady in black totally left her listeners witnessing her greatness.
Despite the crowd and the singing and dancing, Gaga was never lost in the moment. Just after performing her hit “Million Reasons” single, who could have predicted what she did next? Lady Gaga premiered “The Cure,” her latest single that she’s been keeping a secret until now. It’s a midtempo pop-soul jam, drawing heavy influences from Madonna.
After the big revelation of unveiling her new song, Gaga proceeded to finish her song list. Unfortunately, however, Bad Romance finished a minute or two before the curfew. What she did was talk to the crowd. “My new single is out tonight on iTunes. It’s called ‘The Cure. I love you,” she announced. What a touching farewell message, Gaga!
Lorde Debuts ‘Homemade Dynamite’
20-year-old New Zealander Lorde established Coachella tradition by promising she had some surprises in store. Leaving the crowd curious, the surprise turned out to be a performance of her new song “Homemade Dynamite,” which she debuted during her set. This left the crowd nothing but delighted. Who wouldn’t want to hear a song performed for the very first time?
“Homemade Dynamite” will be part of her upcoming album, Melodrama, in which the young singer said is about “the ups and downs of a being twentysomething.” That sounds cool. Way to go, Lorde!
Who could have predicted such awesome surprises? After all, that is what Coachella is all about — great music and surprises. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival began on April 14 (Thursday) and will end on April 23 (Saturday).
