It looks like DreamWorks is ready to bring back the thunder.
Kung Fu Panda was a hit animated series that launched back in 2008, and we got the third movie released back in 2016. Now DreamWorks has announced the return of Po in 2024 with a fourth Kung Fu Panda movie. Here’s the official post:

We don’t have breakdown of the story yet, but if we were to follow Po’s arc, I have a feeling that the story could delve into Po getting his own protege and passing on the mantle of the Dragon Warrior. With animated movies having a tendency to grow along with their audience (like How to Train Your Dragon), I have a feeling the next Kung Fu Panda is going to have some more mature character growth for Po, seeing that the franchise would be 16-years-old since the first movie has been released.
While not as prevalent in internet memes as Shrek, Kung Fu Panda still manages to be one of the more successful animated franchises from DreamWorks. Besides humor, the films do feature some very solid action, and Jack Black is just perfectly cast as the fat and kung fu-loving nerd Po.
With a release set for early 2024, we could get our first look at the movie in the middle of 2023. Maybe we can get some kind of cast announcement or poster drop exactly a year before the release.
Now who do we talk to about a Megamind sequel???
Kung Fu Panda 4 is set to release March 8, 2024.
