We’ve all come to love the Kingsman movies (Kingsman: The Secret Service and Kingsman: The Golden Circle) as we saw Eggsy Unwin (Taron Egerton) and Harry Hart (Colin Firth) fight bad guys, save the world, and become our favorite duo. Sadly their story will be coming to an end, as director Matthew Vaughn reveals that Kingsman: The Great Game will finish off Harry and Eggsy’s story.
Kingsman Through the Years
Directed and produced by Vaughn, Kingsman: The Secret Service came out in 2014 and grossed $414.40 million in the box office. The film follows Harry as he recruits an unrefined but promising street kid (Eggsy) into a secret organization called “The Kingsman.” Eggsy undergoes grueling training with the help of his mentor and eventually joins the agency, fulfilling his dreams, all thanks to Harry. Kingsman: The Golden Circle, on the other hand, came out in 2017 and grossed$410.90 million. When the Kingsman headquarters was destroyed, leaving many of their comrades dead and the world held hostage. The Kingsman then team up with an allied spy organization in the United States to defeat their common enemy—the “Golden Circle.”

In an interview with Digital Spy, Vaughn spoke about the Harry-Eggsy dynamic.”We’ve got to finish off the Eggsy and Harry relationship. The final chapter of their relationship needs to be told, which we’ve got ready to do, and I’m hoping to shoot that later this year or the beginning of next year,” Vaughn said. Kingsman: The Great Game is the third installment of the British spy saga and stars Taron Egerton, Harry Hart, Daniel Bruhl, Djimon Hounsou, and Gemma Arterton.
Vaughn also directs Egerton as he plays Elton John in Rocketman. The film is a Biography/Musical about the iconic singer’s transformation from a shy piano prodigy to an international superstar. “As Taron was saying, he’s looking forward to becoming Eggsy again, because emotionally it’s a lot less draining,” Vaughn continued. Rocketman will hit theaters May 31st.
Kingsman: The Great Game was originally slated for release in November of 2019, but it was pushed back to February 2020. The films are based on Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar’s comic series, “The Secret Service.” Following the previously released Kingsman films in 2014 and 2017, the fans can expect a superb ending to the trilogy.
