Kim Possible Revival Allegedly in the Works

We just got news that Phineas and Ferb is getting a revival, but another Disney Channel original could be returning for a new generation.

According to The Cosmic Circus, Disney is currently working on a revival for Kim Possible, the animated series which starred high-schooler Kim Possible going on secret missions with her goofy best friend Ron Stoppable. As per the site, the revival will be an animated film that could be coming out to Disney+, and it won’t be a continuation of the 2019 live-action film which was poorly received.

With high schoolers completely different from what they were back in the mid-2000s when the series came out, I think it’s possible that we could be looking at a complete revival that would bring a high school Kim to this generation of kids.

If anything, original actors Christy Carlson Romano and Will Friedle are game to return as Kim and Ron; just bring back the original animation style, and I think a lot of fans would be lining up for the premiere of the Kim Possible revival. While a nostalgia-baiting is expected with the revival, I’m hoping they focus on making the property seem fresh for today’s kids. We can’t expect everything to pander to the fanbase of the original material (like what Star Wars is doing).

Then again, until we have an official announcement, we should just take this news with a grain of salt. But until then, I’m excited to think of Kim and Ron returning to thwart some more cartoonish villains.

A Kim Possible revival has not been officially announced.
