Disney and Illumination may be dominating on the animated movie market, but Netflix has also been delivering some wonderfully animated films. Just in, we have a look at Entergalactic starring Kid Cudi and Jessica Williams, and it looks like it takes place in the same universe as Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Check this out:
The synopsis for the film sounds pretty plain, with the description that reads: “From the minds of Kid Cudi and Kenya Barris comes a story of two young artists navigating the twists and turns of finding love in New York City.”
Though the story could be simple, you can’t deny that the movie definitely has a very specific feel to it, and I’m sure that the mix of visuals and atmospheric music is going to entice a lot of movie-goers, regardless of whether the film has Spider-Men or not.
Besides Cudi and Williams, the film also has a star-studded cast which includes Timothee Chalamet, Vanessa Hudgens, Jaden Smith, and Macaulay Culkin. With so much prominent members in the cast, we should expect a look at a lot more characters, but so far the teaser only gives the spotlight to the two main stars. Maybe we’ll get a look at everyone else in the next trailer, which could drop sometime around July or September—depending on when the film releases in the fall.
If anything, Entergalactic should be a good placeholder until Across the Spider-Verse comes out next year. Catch it when it premieres on Netflix sometime in the fall.
