Key and Peele are Stop-Motion Demons in Trailer for Wendell & Wild

Netflix may be going all out with the Halloween spooks when it comes to Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, but they also have something more kid-friendly in mind with the stop-motion animated movie Wendell & Wild.

Just in, we have a new trailer, and it features Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key as these odd, magical demons. Watch this:

Here’s the official description:

“Director, Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline) and producer Jordan Peele (Nope, Us, Get Out) team up to bring us a phantasmic thrill ride in the new stop-animation feature, Wendell & Wild. The titular characters, a pair of demon brothers played by comedy icons Key & Peele trick troubled teen, Kat Elliott (Lyric Ross), into bringing them from the underworld into the land of the living and mayhem ensues. Watch Wendell & Wild and its all-star cast including Angela Bassett, James Hong, and Ving Rhames.”

Though Tim Burton does get all the credit for The Nightmare Before Christmas, people forget that the movie was actually directed by Selick. With Wendell & Wild, Selick will be able to bring us another kid-friendly, spooky animation, and I’m sure a lot of fans would be eager to see it.

The movie is kind of giving me Beetlejuice vibes, but I guess Selick does have a style that’s very evocative of Burton’s work.

Catch Wendell & Wild when it premieres on Netflix on Oct. 28.
