Kevin Hart is one of the biggest names in comedy today, and he’s teaming up with Netflix and Mark Wahlberg for the upcoming film Me Time.
Watch the trailer here:
Here’s the official description:
When a stay-at-home dad finds himself with some “me time” for the first time in years while his wife and kids are away, he reconnects with his former best friend for a wild weekend that nearly upends his life.
Though the film does look like the usual Hart-fuelled comedy, I think it’s worth noting that John Hamburg is at the helm, and he’s behind some of the more defining comedy entries in the early 2000s like Along Came Polly and I Love You, Man.
The movie pretty much leans into Hart’s brand of humor. He may be one of the most popular stand-up comedians today, but he always ends up playing the more humble, family-friendly man who is more of a beta when it comes to his dynamic with others.
While we know that Hart is always a solid figure when it comes to comedy, it’s going to be interesting to see what kind of dynamic he has with Mark Wahlberg. Though Wahlberg has pretty much made a career being an action star, he’s proven he has some pretty good comedy chops. Who knows, if Me Time manages to do great, maybe they can have a sequel with Will Ferrell onboard?
It’s just a pitch.
Me Time starring Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg comes out this Aug. 26.
