Kamala Shines in New Poster for Ms. Marvel

Marvel fans may be raving about Moon Knight now, but in  50 days, we’re going to be looking at a new MCU hero in the form of Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel. With the show set to come out in June, Marvel Entertainment has decided to drop a new poster featuring Kamala and the rest of the cast.

We have yet to get a full synopsis of the series, but the teaser does confirm that we’ll get to follow Kamala as she gains her powers and decides to become a superhero.

Probably one of the more specific character traits of Ms. Marvel is that she’s also a huge Avengers fan, so she’s familiar with all the heroes besides Captain Marvel. While there are MCU fans in-real-life, this show actually focuses on an MCU fan that lives inside the world. It’s going to be interesting to see how the civilians inside the world actually think of heroes like Black Widow or Captain America.

Admittedly, the show has taken some liberties when it comes to Kamala’s powers. Though she’s an inhuman in the comics with shapeshifting abilities, this show will have Ms. Marvel doing some sort of physical energy projections that come from a cosmic power source. While it’s a tad nitpicky, I thought that the goofiness of Kamala’s powers added to her overall personality. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens with the show.

Ms. Marvel starts streaming on Disney+ on June 8.
