Cartoon Network is guest starring K-Pop boy band Monsta X—consisting of members Shownu, Wonho, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M.—in an episode of Cartoon Network’s We Bare Bears, according to Billboard. An Emmy-nominated show that first aired on November 6th, 2014, We Bare Bears stars Panda (Bobby Moynihan), Grizz (Eric Edelstein), and Ice Bear (Demetri Martin), three bear brothers trying to find their place in today’s society.
Things You Should Know
Monsta X will be the first K-Pop band to be animated on We Bare Bears‘ upcoming episode, titled “Panda Birthday.” The episode follows Panda, a massive fan of Monsta X who is overwhelmed by the surprise his brothers Grizz and Ice Bear will pull off. Meanwhile, Grizz and Ice Bear cook up a plan for Panda to meet his all-time K-Pop band on his special birthday.
“We are absolutely thrilled and honored to be in an episode of We Bare Bears. It’s one of the most beloved animated series in the world,” Monsta X member I.M. said. “We put in a lot of effort into this collaboration and hope our fans, as well as ‘We Bare Bear‘ fans, can truly enjoy it.”
The episode “Panda’s Birthday” from We Bare Bears premieres Monday, May 27th on Cartoon Network at 7:30 PM PT. However, regions outside of the US will have the episode shown later this year. Fans can also check out additional clips on the Cartoon Network app and on VOD (Video on Demand) beginning Friday, May 24th.
On top of the cartoon guesting, Monsta X announced their comeback in February with the album “Take.2 We Are Here.” With their company, Starship Entertainment announcing a world tour of 12 countries and 18 cities, this marks the group’s largest tour to date. Surely, Monsta X is on top of the world.
