Blue’s Clues, one of the most watched and beloved children’s’ shows of the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, will finally get a reboot, titled Blues Clues & You.
Although Blues Clues can still be watched in selected channels, the show has ceased its production in 2006, ending with 146 episodes. But over the course of the children’s show, it became a solid hit because of its hosts. Steve burns originally hosted Blues Clues from 1996 and said his farewell in 2002. Later on, Burns was replaced by Donovan Patton until the show ended in 2006. Blues Clues also had spinoff titled Blue’s Room from 2004 to 2007.
The children’s show was also popularized not only in the USA but also in other parts of the world. In fact, there are two ‘Blues Clues’ versions—the United Kingdom spinoff, which was hosted by Kevin Duala, and in Portugal hosted by Duarte Gomes.
‘Blues Clues & You’: The New Host
Blues Clues And You will also have an upgrade in terms of animation. So we can definitely expect that Handy Dandy Notebook, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper, Mailbox, and the Thinking Chair will look much cooler and updated in the reboot. Everyone is upgrading including our favorite canine, Blue. In the reboot, Blue will be three-dimensional with a lot of furs, looking really huggable. According to Variety, the producers said that they have adjusted some details to suit the modern viewer’s taste.
Recently, Nick Jr. previewed a sneak peek of Blues Clues & You that will be hosted by Filipino-American Joshua Dela Cruz. Check out the teaser below:
Burns played a huge part in choosing the current host. Blue’s new best friend is a theatrical actor who played as an understudy for the Aladdin Broadway Stage Musical. He also appeared in the movie Point Man and shows like Time after Time and Bull. Burns said that Dela Cruz could definitely fill his shoes as the new playmates of the audience of Blues Clues & You. Adding to this is Dela Cruz’s background in theater. Cathy Galeota, Nickelodeon Group’s Senior Vice President of Preschool Content, praised Dela Cruz, saying, “Josh’s wonderful theater background and his natural charisma checked all the boxes for us, and of course, Steve’s stamp of approval only solidified our decision.”
Blues Clues & You premieres in November on Nick Jr.
