Jon Favreau may not be directing anything for Marvel Studios anymore, but he’s found himself pretty busy with Star Wars. We haven’t even got a look at Mandalorian Season 3 yet, but Favreau confirms he’s already started work on the fourth season of the show.
Talking to CinemaBlend, Favreau confirms:
“With television, we’re very lucky that we don’t have to rush things through into an hour-and-a-half, two hours. We get to tell stories slowly. So now, as Dave [Filoni]’s doing Ahsoka, it’s very much informing the writing that I’m doing for [The Mandalorian] Season 4. It becomes – how should I put it – more precise.”
We don’t even have a look at the third season yet, so we can only imagine what’s in store for Mando 4, but Star Wars Celebration has confirmed that Katee Sackhoff will be reprising her role as Bo-Katan Kryze. I have a feeling we’re also going to see the show crossover with more characters like Ahsoka or even Bill Burr’s Mayfeld.
With no updates on the Sequel Trilogy lately, I’m hoping that Favreau and his team further lessen the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. There’s just so much of the First Order to build up, and it would be great if we could get more stories exploring he emptier parts of the lore. I mean, aren’t we all tired of the Original Trilogy timeline yet?
