Jon Bernthal’s Punisher to Appear in Daredevil: Born Again?

Matt Murdock may be showing up in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law soon, but word is going around we could have another fan-favorite appearing on his Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again.

According to insider Tom Smith, Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle a.k.a. the Punisher could be making an appearance in the Daredevil reboot. Here’s the post:

Basically Born Again is re-introducing the Netflix characters to the mainstream and they planned to bring in Ritter but there’s a scheduling problem for Born Again. Rumor was going around that they wanted Kristen Ritter’s Jessica Jones to appear in She-Hulk, but Ritter’s schedule couldn’t work; so now they have Bernthal appearing, but there’s still a chance that Marvel’s alcoholic PI could make an appearance.

If anything, Punisher appearing on Daredevil makes a lot of sense. Bernthal’s version of the character was introduced in the second season of Daredevil, and with Disney’s kid-friendly branding for the MCU, it could be a long while before Frank Castle gets to have his own solo series again.

Who knows, maybe this could just be a small Spider-Man: No Way Home kind of cameo, but I’m sure there are a lot of fans who will be happy to see Bernthal officially come into the MCU fold—especially since he has one hell of a fierce version of Frank Castle.

Then again, these are all just rumors. We wouldn’t want to be disappointed after finding out Punisher doesn’t appear at all. You’d think we’d learn not to over-hype ourselves after all the cameos being reported for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

No release date has been set for Daredevil: Born Again, but you can catch the Man Without Fear when he appears in She-Hulk on Disney+.
