We already know what Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker is like, but everyone is curious on what his version of Harley Quinn. The part is going to be played by Lady Gaga, and we have a new set video of her kissing a woman in what looks to be a protest.

A closer look at the scene reveals that the woman is cursing at Harley, telling her that she’s “going to hell.” Harley then kisses her and replies, “Now we’re both going to hell.”:

It feels pretty much in tone with the Joker movie which isn’t so shy about its political criticisms. Joker essentially rewrites the character to be some kind of hero of the people, and now we have a scene where Harley is going up against the conservatives.
I just wonder how the internet is going to react to this. A lot of people have gravitated to the Phoenix’s version of the Joker with his dark take on ‘society,’ but how will they feel about the ‘woke’ Harley kissing a conservative protester?
We don’t know the plot for Joker: Folie a Deux yet, but it looks like we’re going to be getting scenes outside of Arkham Asylum with Harley possibly going to court to support Arthur during a trial. I’m speculating that the movie could actually rewrite the movie to have Harley be the toxic lover in the relationship, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Joker: Folie a Deux is set to release in theaters on Oct. 4, 2024.
