We didn’t get a new season of Hawkeye this year, but Jeremy Renner still managed to make headlines.
As reported by Variety, Renner had been airlifted to the hospital after a weather-related snow plowing accident. The Avengers actor is in ‘critical but stable’ condition, and his rep has released this statement:
“We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today… His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”
No details about how Renner was injured or to what extent, but a lot of fans are definitely worried about his recovery, especially with the news that he’s in ‘critical’ condition. After the surprising loss of Chadwick Boseman a few years ago, I don’t know if fans are ready to say good-bye to another Marvel star so soon.
Hopefully we’ll get an update with more details in the future. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
Though Renner may not have a new Marvel project in sight, he is definitely still one of the more pppular actors for Marvel, especially after the release of his own Hawkeye series on Disney+. Though he hasn’t officially passed the mantle yet, I would love to see more of him mentoring the next Hawkeye Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld).
Renner currently stars in Mayor of Kingstown which will debut its second season this January. You can also check out the complete Hawkeye series now streaming on Disney+.
