After four long years, the internet has prospered, America elected its 45th President, Beyonce released her sixth studio album; and now, JAY-Z drops a new album. This new hip-hop genre entitled “4:44” was first teased in the NBA Finals in a one-minute video. For being a master of Rap and Hip-hop, this might very well influence a new wave of Hip-hop.
The album “4:44” features a lot of Celebrity appearances such as Frank Ocean, Damian Marley, and his wife, Queen vocalist Beyonce Knowles.

The JAY-Z album contains ten songs. But it doesn’t include the song “Adnis” that was first introduced subtly in the trailer for “4:44” released mid-June. “Adnis” is the first full-fledged song that talked about the 47-year-old’s father. JAY-Z has mentioned him in a few songs before, but to compose a whole four minutes, is a big step for the Rap artist.
Included in the album are also vocals from his wife, Beyonce. Although the couple hasn’t made a duet– not for “4:44” at least. JAY-Z has made collaborations with Frank Ocean though, an ally his music he’s been in touch with since. In fact, Frank Ocean had been part n JAY-Z’s most recent album, “Magna Carta Holy Grail.” This year, he is featured in the song “Caught in Their Eyes.”
His mother, Gloria Carter also performed with him in the song, “Smile.” Meanwhile, Damian Marley is featured in the song “Bam.”
Why is JAY-Z’s Album entitled ‘4:44’?
It appears as if this vocal artist has patterned the title “4:44” with a significant number to him, and his wife. Aside from the fact that this was released after four years, Beyonce’s fourth album was also entitled “4.” Coincidentally, his birthday is on Dec. 4 and Beyonce’s is on Sept. 4. Even their wedding anniversary is on an April 4. Plus, they’ve got matching “IV” tattoos on both their ring fingers.
Can we stream ‘4:44’ on Spotify?
Right now, the album is found and can be streamed exclusively on Tidal. Streaming isn’t free either as a subscription will be required from you. There isn’t news if JAY-Z will be uploading it on his Spotify. Disappointingly, the Rap Master only uploaded a limited amount of his discography on Spotify. Whether or not he will be releasing this there, is unsure.
JAY-Z is the owner of Tidal. So it wouldn’t be a mystery if he wants “4:44” to be bought there exclusively.
