James Bond 25 Movie Finally Gets Title 'No Time To Die'

The 25th installment to the James Bond franchise touches back down to its roots as it finally puts a name to the face. From only being known as Bond 25, the upcoming film starring Daniel Craig (for the last time as the superspy) is titled No Time To Die. It’s set to premiere in the UK on April 3, 2020, and its U.S. premiere will follow on April 8.

In the new film, Bond surfaces from a relaxing break in sunny Jamaica when his old friend from the CIA Felix Leiter turns up asking for help. However, the mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be a far more treacherous than any of them expected. And it leads Bond to pick up the trail of a mysterious villain who is armed with dangerous technology.

Aside from Craig, a few other stars are returning to the new James Bond film. Jeffrey Wright will be picking up his role as CIA agent Leiter. Christopher Waltz will be facing off against Bond as his nemesis Blofeld. Lea Seydoux will be back as Madeleine. And Ben Wishaw and Naomie Harries will be back as Q and Moneypenny respectively. New additions to the cast include Rami Malek, Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, and David Dencik. True Detectives Cary Fukunaga is directing. He also penned the script with Neil Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge as co-writers.

James Bond Moves Forward

Earlier in its production, No Time To Die experienced a couple of on-set setbacks. According to Variety, a minor explosion at the Pinewood Studios outside London injured one person and damaged the set. Then in May, Craig injured his ankle on-set and had to undergo minor surgery. Even before all that, production suffered a standstill from when director Danny Boyle left the project over creative differences. This delayed the film’s release for nearly six months from October 2019 to April 2019. Despite all that, the film will be released on schedule.

As the new James Bond film nears its release, expectations are climbing. This is Craig’s last stint as 007. Aside from that, Waller-Bridge’s addition to the film to spruce up and further modernize the script made quite the headlines. In an interview with Deadline, she said “I think he’s [James Bond] absolutely relevant now. It has just got to grow. It has just got to evolve, and the important thing is that the film treats the women properly. He doesn’t have to. He needs to be true to this character.”

MGM will be releasing the film domestically through its United Artists Releasing Banner. And Universal Pictures International will be handling it on the foreign front.
