Jack Black is Back as Po in New Trailer for Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight

Puss in Boots isn’t the only DreamWorks property making a comeback this year. While it’s not a film, Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight is set to come out on Netflix later this year, and we have a new trailer featuring the return of the OG dragon warrior—Jack Black.

When a mysterious pair of weasels set their sights on a collection of four powerful weapons, Po must leave his home to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice that finds him partnered up with a no-nonsense English knight named Wandering Blade voiced by Rita Ora. Together, these two mismatched warriors set out on an epic adventure to find the magical weapons first and save the world from destruction.

Though the series did get Jack Black to come back for the role of Po, the only other original cast member to return from the films is James Hong. Seeing that this is just a series, I have a feeling they blew all of the budget just bringing Black back for the role. I doubt we’re going to get an appearance from other KFP characters like Tigress (Angelina Jolie) or Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman).

With the Kung Fu Panda movies mostly taking place in a make-believe China, I’m actually interested to see the world expand a bit. What kind of animals live in Wandering Blade’s country? Could we actually see a dragon show up this time?
