House of the Dragon’s Emma D’Arcy on Becoming the ‘Negroni Sbagliato’ Meme

Emma D’Arcy may not have appeared in the last episode of House of the Dragon, but they have been in quite the ride online, becoming one of the latest internet memes on Twitter and TikTok.

For context, fans had specifically went crazy with the clip of D’Arcy saying that their drink of choice is a ‘Negroni Sbagliato with Prosecco in it.’ There’s nothing so crazy about the drink, but the fans have been geeking out over the sultry way that D’Arcy delivered the line.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the LGBT TikTok community had latched on to the clip and several edits have been coming out online of fans just straight up thirsting for a Negroni Sbagliato (or D’Arcy themselves).

Talking to The New York Times, D’Arcy was asked about her viral drink of choice, to which she replies, “I keep thinking I should tell my mum that I’ve become a meme in the hope that she’ll be happy for me, but I’d have to explain what a meme is, and I’ve decided it’s too much effort.” D’Arcy continues, “I feel so embarrassed… Because in those interviews, when we’ve been at it for six hours, I’m honestly only trying to make Olivia [Cooke] laugh”

Seeing that D’Arcy is one of the most talked-about shows right now, there are probably a ton more clips of them that have a chance of going viral online, but for now, the ‘Negroni Sbagliato’ meme is the oddest one to go viral.
