When we meet Corlys ‘Sea Snake’ Velaryon in House of the Dragon, he was already one of the richest people in the realm with the legendary nine voyages behind him. Though his adventuring days may be over in HOTD, we could actually see a younger version of the character come to screen.
According to @Thrones_Facts, George R.R. Martin himself has confirmed that a Sea Snake spinoff is currently in the works. Here’s the post:

Though the Velaryons are an ancient house, it was the Sea Snake that managed to turn his family into one of the most powerful during his reign as ruler of Driftmark. With Corlys’ nine voyages, he was able to bring back an enormous amount of wealth, and his story had become legend across the Seven Kingdoms.
We don’t know how far into development the Sea Snake series is at, but I think a nine-episode limited series could work, with one voyage being as the center of every episode. If you ask me, they should make the series animated, with a different style every episode—kind of like Star Wars: Visions or Love, Death + Robots.
Game of Thrones may be done, but HBO sees the potential for spinoffs with a world as expansive as Westeros. Not only can we explore multiple locations, but we have thousands of generations worth of lore, all filled with interesting stories. Let’s hope the Sea Snake gets his spotlight soon.
For now, you can catch Corlys in the completed first season of House of the Dragon now airing on HBO Max.
