Later this month will see the premiere of House of the Dragon on HBO Max, and we have a new featurette showcasing all the members of the Targaryen family at the height of their powers.
Check it out:
Paddy Considine is set to play Viserys Targaryen, and it’s him whose in the seat of power when the show starts. While I imagine that Viserys is a good leader, this is still Thrones, so I should expect some kind of tragic fate to befall him, opening up the door for the Targaryen Civil War.
Speaking of the civil war, we also get some good insight on characters Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen, both are set up to try and claim the Iron Throne. While I’m pretty sure Matt Smith is being poised as the series villain, I think Milly Alcock’s Rhaenyra will also be forced to resort to some despicable acts, all in the name of earning the throne.
Besides Targaryens, we also have some interesting insight on the ‘new’ Iron Throne in the show. While the original Throne in GoT was just one chair, the Throne is this series is a lot more accurate to the books, being a grotesque trophy of fallen enemies. I mean, it’s not as excessive as the Throne in the books, but it does look like a good marriage of both the TV and book versions.
Catch House of the Dragon when it premieres on HBO Max this coming Aug. 21.
