House of the Dragon Fans Angry Paddy Considine Got Snubbed by the Golden Globes

House of the Dragon came out to be a triumphant return to the world of Westeros, with solid performances all around from lead Emma D’Arcy to toxic internet boyfriend Matt Smith.

With the Golden Globe nominations recently coming out, a lot of fans are disappointed that one Targaryen didn’t manage to make the cut for Best Supporting Actor.

Paddy Considine was probably one of the oddest choices to play a Targaryen king, but he managed to pull the role off starting with a bumbling sweetheart of a father to an aging, dying old man. With his performance as Viserys being said to be one of the highlights of the series, a lot of fans have come out online to cry foul at the Golden Globes for not giving him a nomination.

Though the series is filled with all kinds of swordfights and dragons, a lot of fans were amazed that one of the most epic scenes on the show just involved an old man struggling to sit on a chair:

I’ll admit, it is kind of disappointing that Considine didn’t get a nomination, but I guess he only really did steal the spotlight in the eighth episode of the show. If you’re looking for someone who was more consistent every episode, it was Matt Smith, but even he didn’t manage to get a nomination.

Either way, who needs awards when you’re one of the most-watched shows on HBO Max right now? Catch the first season of House of the Dragon now streaming.
