Hosea Chanchez To Play Recurring Role in ‘Black Lightning’ Season 2

Hosea Chanchez is back on The CW, set to play a recurring role for the current season of Black Lightning.
Deadline reports that the former The Game star will take on the role of Marcus Bishop, a secret ASA operative with Dr. Helga Jace (Jennifer Riker). His character is described to be impulsive and violent. In the series, he is an ex-Air Force officer who killed his superior after being passed over for promotion because of his poor performance review. He signs with Dr. Jace in Leavenworth where he takes on new covert missions.
Black Lightning is a superhero series on the CW created by Salim Akil and produced by Berlanti Productions and Akil Productions in association with Warner Bros TV. It is based off a DC comic book created by Tony Isabella which debuted in April 1977. It was released January 2018 and is on its eleventh episode in its second season. The series stars Cress Williams who plays Jefferson Pierce alongside Nafessa Williams, China Anne McClain, Krondon and Christine Adams.
Chanchez is known for his role as Malik Wright in the hit BET series The Game. He played a high-profile starting quarterback for the Sabers. The character was a rich spoiled womanizer who lived in a mansion in San Diego. The show lasted for nine seasons. He also starred in the 2013 movie Let the Church Say Amen directed by Regina King opposite Naturi Naughton and Steve Harris. The actor made an appearance in the 2011 movie 96 Minutes directed by Aimee Lagos starring Evan Ross, David Oyelowo and Brittany Snow.
Black Lightning Season 2 airs Monday, January 21 at 9/10c on the CW.
