'Honest Trailers' Creator Andy Signore Fired After Sexual Abuse Allegations

You’ve probably come across an Honest Trailer on YouTube before. Screen Junkies has been doing it for quite some time now, and you’ve got to admit, they have no mercy when it comes to driving the reality of these trailers, be it Star Wars or even the most obscure movie you’ve ever seen. However, things are shaking up as Andy Signore, the “Honest Trailers” creator, was fired earlier today following allegations of sexual abuse.
His termination was announced by Defy Media, the digital media company that owns the Screen Junkies YouTube channel, where “Honest Trailers” airs. According to the company, Signore’s termination is effective immediately, and that “there is simply no justification for this egregious and intolerable behavior.”
According to the statement, the company’s HR team was made aware of the allegations against the Honest Trailer creator back in August. An investigation on the matter was then launched. Over the weekend, new pieces of evidence emerged and the scope of Signore’s actions was brought to light. “We are acting swiftly to address the concerns of the people affected, and that going forward, our community is free of harassment or discrimination of any kind,” Defy Media said.
“Our Screen Junkies colleagues and freelancers are a team of remarkable creators serving loyal fans and we will support and protect them,” the company added. “If anyone else is aware of behavior of this type, we would encourage them to bring it to our attention.”

Public complaints against Andy Signore

A couple of complaints from two of Signore’s alleged victims were reported by Deadline. Screen Junkies intern Emma Bowers said that Signore reportedly wanted to jack off in front of her after she worked on some viral videos for him. “He messaged me to say how hot I was, and tried to play it off as silly ‘lol, jacking it to you in your undies!!!’ And when I tried to brush it off, he offered me to come over so he could do it in person,” Bowers stated. “I will never forget his exact words.”

A YouTuber named April also posted a detailed story of how Signore tried to sexually harass her. “He took out sex toys and tried to force them in me, took pictures of me without my permission and promised a position at Screen Junkies for sexual favors,” she said. “This has been the hardest time of my life, but I’m coming forward in hopes that no other women will have to be subject to this kind of treatment.”
