Henry Cavill Allegedly Making Big Superman Announcement at SDCC 2022

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten any updates on DCEU’s Superman, but fans have always been vocal about keeping Henry Cavill in the role. While DC has been mum about the next Superman film, a rumor is going around that we could get an update soon.
According to Deadline, Cavill is said to be making a huge Superman reveal at DC’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. While I would expect Cavill to make some kind of update with The Witcher, an update on the Man of Steel sequel is something the fans have been waiting for for years.
Ever since the theatrical release of Justice League, it feels like WB has been scrambling to find out what to do with the franchise. With them parting ways with Zack Snyder, projects were delayed left and right, and the connected universe seems to have been abandoned with solo projects Joker and The Batman—which are still pretty good, but fans really wanted to see what was up with the main DCEU timeline.
Though Snyder may not be directing the next Superman movie, I’m hoping that they find someone who can deliver a Superman that everyone can agree with (which I think is still pretty impossible). I’d love to see J.J. Abrams’ take on the character, but I wouldn’t mind someone younger to give the property a fresh, new take.
Then again, this is just a rumor, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
SDCC 2022 takes place from July 21–24.
