Euphoria isn’t even halfway through its second season yet, but after so much critical reception for the first few episodes, it’s been announced that we’re going to be getting more of Rue and the drama of her high school friends.
According to Deadline, HBO has officially renewed Euphoria for a third season. EVP of HBO Programming Francesca Orsi has this to say about the show’s renewal:
“[Show creator Sam Levinson], Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart. We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3.”

We don’t know exactly where the second season of Euphoria is going, but we do know that Rue’s (Zendaya) main struggle is trying to cope with sobriety—which is affecting her relationship with Jules (Hunter Schafer).
The series is also giving us a deeper look at the Jacobs, Nate (Jacob Elordi) and his father Cal (Eric Dane). Though we know that Nate has been a crazy sociopath since the first season, the series is surprisingly delving into Cal’s backstory, what with his struggles with his sexuality and why he’s the way he is toward his family.
Though the series is a high-school drama at heart, you have to give Levinson props for giving the show its unique feel, and ethereal mood; not to mention that banging soundtrack.
The second season of Euphoria wraps on Feb. 27. Catch a new episode of the series every Sunday on HBO Max.
