Marvel fans were shocked when it was reported that Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner got into an accident in the New Year, and though he was in critical condition, it looks like he’s on the road to recovery.
Just in, Renner has posted an update on his Twitter thanking everyone for their support. Here’s the post:
I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness. Much love and appreciation to you all. These 30 plus broken bones will mend , grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens pic.twitter.com/kzj2CLYdXA

We don’t have specifics on what exactly Renner’s injuries were, but several rumors had been going around that he had lost a limb or two. Good news is, it looks like he’s walking out of the accident in one piece, but it’s probably going to be a while before we see him up and running around the MCU again.
For now, it looks like Clint Barton is officially retired from superheroing, and the Hawkeye series on Disney+ sets up the mantle to be taken over by Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop. We don’t know exactly when Kate is going to make her big screen debut, but I imagine that there are a few more appearances from Renner expected to properly pass the torch to Kate on the big screen.
Here’s the official description for the Hawkeye series:
Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.
