Hawkeye Deleted Scenes Flashback to Clint Barton’s Criminal Youth

The Christmas season had us enjoy Disney+’s Hawkeye series, and it gave us a lot of great character work with Clint Barton and Kate Bishop. What’s interesting is, some deleted scenes have made their way online and they reveal that Clint actually had a criminal upbringing with his mother.

The clips reveal Clint with his young mother, pulling grifts and stealing to survive; it also reveals how much of a great shot Clint is even when he was young. The flashback seems to end with Clint botching a shot during a job, and with his mom being sent away, claiming Clint missed on purpose.

We don’t know which episode this was supposed to be in, but it does inform on Clint’s character and why he would want to save Natasha Romanoff from a life of being a mercenary. Then again, it doesn’t really give that much to the story overall, and I can understand why it was cut.

Though Hawkeye is nobody’s favorite Avenger, the series was surprisingly great. After WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier kind of failed at bringing in the huge stakes they promised, it was refreshing to watch a series that kept things small and contained. Add to that some great character interactions with Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova, and you have a very solid MCU series.

We don’t know where we could see Kate or Cllint again, but hopefully it won’t be too far down the line. The full season of Hawkeye is now available on Disney+.
