We’ve only been getting small updates on HBO’s The Last of Us series, but news about casting like Nick Offerman as Bill has a lot of fans excited. What’s interesting is, it looks like one Euphoria star is going to be joining the upcoming adaptation.
As per @TheLastofUsNews, a rumor has been going around that Reid could be playing Elsie’s friend Riley in The Last of Us. Reid was said to have arrived in Canada around the same time the cast and crew did, and her mother also teased on IG that Reid found a new project that was a “popular video game turned into a television series”.
Storm Reid (Euphoria) is rumored to be playing Riley in HBO's #TheLastofUs.
She arrived in Canada at about the same time that the cast/crew returned to Calgary to resume production on the show. And her mother posted this on Instagram: pic.twitter.com/3KkJNgXQG5

It’s also noted that the show’s star Bella Ramsey (Ellie) and Reid follow each other on IG.
While Riley isn’t a character in the main game, she is introduced in the DLC The Last of Us: Left Behind. The expansion is actually a prequel to The Last of Us, and follows the story of Ellie and her friend Riley up to the point where Ellie is infected.
Despite having a mostly friendly interaction in Left Behind, Riley is also considered to be Ellie’s first romance, and it hints at her lesbian identity in The Last of Us Part II.
Of course, Reid’s casting is just speculation at this point, but it does make a lot of sense. She’s already an HBO alum, and the network would probably want someone recognizable in a small but essential role. Until we get any official confirmation, all we can really do is guess.
No release date has been set for HBO’s The Last of Us adaptation.
